This is also a one hop drill that helps out with the baseball catchers agility and balance. Moving on to different blocking drills using the pitching machine and receiving drills with breaking ball pitches. Just wondering why his coach works him so hard on the one knee down? What are the advantages of one knee down or situations when you’d want to use this?

Mainly when nobody is on base. Thats when one knee is down. Not all catchers use this option, but coach wants Shawn to have all the options in his bag.
