My son is 8 years old and in his last year of machine pitch. They threw him in a catcher with no experience so here we are lol....

This was one of the first couple of videos when we started the channel. You can blame the content on me. As we progressed on the channel I believe the videos got much better. Sorry this was a long time ago an this was mainly trying to keep his elbows down to have the correct position for the throw. That is why they were using the PVC. Yep should be not hoping as well. Don't know if you guys knew. We did three trips to Flagler. School was great. Coach asked Shawn to come back three times and then all Shawn got back on the third trip was a one sentence email from the coach thanking him for coming down and good luck next year. Very disappointed in the coach and how he treated Shawn.. But, Shawn is doing well at Bloomsburg University which is a D2 school and he loves Bloomsburg University.

It is good practice to get the mask off and to be able to see the ball on the ground. You always want to throw the mask off and out of the way. He is practicing good technique in removing the mask and eye contact with the ball in a game situation. Hope this helps you out. Let me know if you have any more questions. Always glad to help out.

@@catchthisSK i’m 15, i graduate in 2025, this year i’ve started hitting the weight room and mostly worked on batting, but im going to a local showcase in january that a couple of in state colleges are going to be at, im in misssissippi btw

@@deesmitty1863 Start making contact now with the coaches. Start shopping around to the colleges that have your major and also research the roster and see who is graduating and what position they are playing as well. We have learned alot over the past couple of years about recruitment process. Let me know if we can help.

Field level we have and it helped in research but not recruiting at all. He did personal emails to the coaches and sent his big 26 video to the coaches the video that is on the channel here. Be recruited really no help at all. Any other questions just keep them coming glad to help.

As you can see on the channel Shawn has been training with coach Lebo since he has been 12. Shawn has been going to the gym and working out on the daily for the past year and a half. His fastest 60 was 6.90 I believe.

I started filming and learning as i go with video editing. We have been doing this for awhile now and its still fun. I'm hoping to help dads/coaches and everyone out there on the web. Shawn is working his butt of and is now visiting colleges and coaches. He is a senior now and its getting crazy. He made the Big 26 for PA all state and did amazing. Well he is now going into his senior year of high school. But he is at the gym 5 days a week and 2 days on recovery. He switches up the days but always tries to take 2 days off to recover. Training days have been back and forth lately. We have several college visits this past summer and just a week ago. So we have been busy traveling. He is now practicing two days a week with a legion team right now. He also plays all outfield positions as well. So he is not only a fantastic catcher when behind the dish he has a great glove and has speed in the field. He is now running a 7 flat on the 60 yard dash. He has really hit the gym this past year and a half and has gotten alot stronger and faster. Hope this helps you out. If you need his workout let me know and i will post it here for you.

Ryan, thank you for your comment on the video. Shawn had broken his thumb at a tournament when he was hitting. He was bunting and just got an inside pitch and the ball broke his thumb. His catching coach since he has been 12 is Mike Lebo. Shawn is now 17 and has been working his tail off. Shawn has been having a great year. He tried out for the Big 26 and was selected out of 22 catchers that had tried out. He had a fantastic showing and was named MVP of Sundays game. They played a total of 3 games PA vs. MD all state. Check out the video on the channel. He had a couple of large D1 schools reach out and asked him to come to their camps. Which we did and he performed very well. He is now 6'1" and 180. Ran the 60 a flat 7.0. His exit velocity for his throw to second is 82. His pop time is now 1.96 His exit velocity batting is 94. So as far as his stats he is killing it and performing amazingly at the camps. But there hasn't been any offers from these schools and he is getting very stressed out. Ryan, if you have any advice for Shawn and well for me as a dad, please reply back to us. I'm not sure what we are doing wrong on this college recruitment. I was watching your video about your story and the wonderful video on your channel. I know its been awhile from when you posted the video, but I hope your mother is doing well.
