This is not a regular season game, but a pre-season game. Regular season Hanshin Tigers games at Koshien Stadium are almost always packed. The Hanshin Tigers have the best attendance in Japan, and sixth in the world if you include MLB. And the cheering of Hanshin Tigers fans at Koshien is the most enthusiastic and entertaining in Japan.

I love baseball. I have season tickets for my local team in the States. Went to my first NPB game last year at the Tokyo Dome to watch the Giants and Swallows. It honestly was the most fun I've had at a game. I love how engaged every fan was throughout the game with all the team chants, cheers for specific players, etc. It's really something to see everyone focused on the game and not on their phones. I can't say I've seen that ever at a game back home. The food was great and very reasonable. And the beer girls were super cool to watch. Really something to see them run up and down each section with a backpack keg.

In festivals, events, sports, and other rides such as movie theaters, facilities, cruise ships, etc., the prices of food and goods offered at food stalls, restaurants, vending machines, etc., whether special or not, are rather expensive, but customers do not see this as a problem because they know the providers' circumstances, that is, the necessary expenses are usually higher than usual and they are also in business and need to make money. Customers are willing to pay more than the usual cost for the items they provide, and they know that they are in business and need to make a profit, so they are more than willing to spend the money, as if to promote the circulation. They don't speak out against their own culture and what it has to offer, and they don't complain and ruin entertainment and celebrations, and they don't act as if they are hurting businesses or workers or anything else. But it seems too expensive in the U.S., about twice the normal commercial price of anything. This is hard to believe in what is supposed to be the richest country in the world...

Thanx for this video, Sarah. Yes, I am a huge baseball fan and I've been to several games in Japan. I've never been to Koshien tho, but would love to go. Thanx for the tour of the museum. I would definitely go to it if I attended a game there. I dont think you mentioned it but Hanshin is the defending Japan Leagues champion. This was their 1st championship since 1985. There is a hilarious story about the "Curse of the Colonel" which was supposed to be the reason why they hadnt won in so long. Google this story - it's very funny. The cheering sections are called "Oendan" and they cheer all game long, no matter what the score. I know there have been a few baseball anime but I'm not familiar w any of them. But I do know that there is one called "Cromartie High School" named for an American baseball player, Warren Cromartie, who played in the major leagues and later in Japan.

I was so sad that by the time I figured out how to get baseball tickets in Japan the season ended, so this was amazing and so interesting to watch! But geez those prices are so cheap. In the US the average food item is about $9-12 USD, and beer would be $10-13 USS so that's a steal with he amount of food you can get! Loved watching and the insight!

This was a fun video! Someday, I hope to get to see an NPB game live! To answer your question about American baseball food concession prices, it depends on where you go. If you go to a Minor League ballpark - the levels below Major League Baseball - you will spend less on food concessions. If you go to a Major League Baseball game, expect to spend much, MUCH more. For example, I recently went to Yankee Stadium and a 25 oz. beer, a one liter bottle of water, a foot-long hot dog, and bacon on a stick (yes, they have those) was nearly $40 USD. Regardless on how much you spend, you're going to have fun.

Pierce was pretty good for us before he left. We also had Nick Martinez for a couple seasons, who used to play with Suarez in Japan. I went to a card shop in Akihabara that and looked through their NPB collection and found some familiar names like Adam Jones (born in San Diego, played with Orix) and George Arias (former Padre). Whenever I went to a game, it was always vs the Hiroshima Carp for some reason. I think Koshien is a particularly beautiful ball park. Japanese fans are so polite and organized, especially with their cheering. They follow the cheer organizers at the front of their sections and sing along to all the songs and do all the hand movements etc. I remember Tigers fans used to release a lot of balloons at the 7th inning stretch. Do they still do that? American baseball is still a lot of fun, but feels a little more chaotic in the stands. And the food is way overpriced. I live in DC now. Our team is the Nationals (Go Nats!!), but I've always been a Baltimore Orioles fan.

Get yourself a glove so if there is a pop fly into the stadium seats, you can catch it..and hopefully not get hit. I caught a pop fly at a Cubs baseball game in Chicago, which was both amazing and a little painful. We are building a brand new professional baseball stadium in my city, which will be the new home of a team imported from California. I hope to see the Dodgers and Otani play this summer! Welcome to the love of the game!

Wow, the last time I went to Koshien was about 50 years ago, but next time I return to Japan, I would definitely like to join the tour you introduced. Thank you and 日本語も上手ですね。

The lead singer of the Japanese rock band Band-Maid, Saiki Atsumi, is a massive Hanshin Tigers fan. 😊 About 1/3 of her X feed is about the Tigers.

I can vividly remember the Hanshin Tigers from Anthony Bourdains Osaka Episode. Cool to see how it changed. And not lol. I think they played their Game in the Osaka Dome tho in that Episode, because the Tigers cannot use the Stadium during the Summer Highschool Tournament.

Thanks for the upload. It was so much fun to see you were having fun at the Koshien stadium! I was born and grown up in the area as a die hard Hanshin fan currently living in the US, I was so happy to see you chose Hanshin and Koshien stadium for your first baseball experience! Trust me! After visiting a lot of stadiums in the US, still the Koshien stadium is the best to see games! Please please don’t support Yomiuri Giants as one of your friends said at the end!😂

That yakisoba dish would probably be like $20-25 in the US at the few stadiums that would have it. Lately I keep watching videos of people going to Japanese games and it feels like an absolute experience. Hoping to go to at least a Chunichi game next year. New challenge is going to all of the stadiums in Japan to compare them.

Love this video, Seerasan! Taking in a game at Koshien Stadium is on my must-do list if I ever get to visit Japan. In America, baseball parks will give you a first visit certificate to take home as a souvenir. Do the japanese parks do this, or something like a eki-stamp or Goshuin?

Koshien is definitely the best place to enjoy baseball in Japan. But you can also enjoy the other type of ballgame called "baysball" in Yokohama. Please enjoy that too.
