4:39 I can't say what the valid medical uses of other PED are, but for Human Growth Hormone and synthetic androgens, I wouldn't call the conditions that warrant them rare. HGH is used in many disorders of puberty, as well as to simulate puberty in adolescents who've had to have their pituitary gland taken out previously due to cancer. Indivually each condition is rare, but together they're a good portion of the patients that a pediatric endocrinologist would have. It is also somewhat controversially used to treat idiopathic short statue in adolescents. The controversy comes from a lack of hard definition of what height is disordered and what isn't, but being shorter than what soicety has been designed for puts you at risk for injury in the future. I'm talking like sub 5ft. Synthetic testerone/androgens are used by transmasc people, as well as by cis men who are not producing enough. In addition to letting one devlop/maintain masculine traits, if you have no sex hormones of one kind or another in your system you are at high risk for osteoporosis. The dangers associated with anabolic steroids are essentially those of testerone *overdose* and do not present when they are used properly.

I'm glad he showed kids when he said that drugs attract athletes. A person grows up loving and learning a sport and then learns that the pros do steroids, what do you think that kids gonna end up doing. Drugs that enhance performance DO NOT belong in sports. You can make a separate league for that but real sports showcase the best of the best of human ability. No shortcuts, no cheating. Only skill and wit are worth watching. Not some juiced cheat code that lasts a couple years and then alters your body for life. It turns the sport into a literal circus, instead of guys with all different kinds of talent coming together as a team, it's how many people are willing to turn into 250 pounds of ground beef for the sake of winning ball games. It's like a video game where every other stat is arbitrary because the power stat is too OP to pass up leveling.
