Nice! My high school has L Series Speaker Strobes in the newer parts of the building, while the main part of the building has mostly SpectrAlert Advance Speaker Strobes and some remote strobes and one Siemens horn by the small elevator for disabled students (which I don't know the model yet).

My high school and career academy have these alarms. In the Career Academy, they're ceiling mounted inside the classrooms and wall mounted on the outside interior of the classrooms. My high school used to have SpectrAlert Classics but they've since then upgraded to the ceiling only version of the System Sensor L-Series speaker strobe. Also, the tone is different.

Yep. Although in my case I went to high school back in the early to mid 1970s, Yeah, I know, that probably sounds like the medieval days to many people reading this. Nonetheless, the standard fire alarm system in my school district were a series of "Gamewell" break-glass stations (about 3 on each floor) and the old style metal gongs at each end of the hallways. Each station had a 3 digit code (i.e. 3-2-3, etc.) . If someone pulled a station it would set off the gongs throughout the building. Now, I am not 100% sure but I believe the gongs would ring out the 3 digit code of the station that was activated. So say if it were station 2-2-1 we would hear "CLANG-CLANG...pause...CLANG CLANG...pause...CLANG" and this sequence would sound a present number of times alerting us to a possible fire... (most of the time a false alarm though). The system also had smoke detectors and thermal (rapid temperature rise) detectors integrated into the system, each particular one with its unique 3 digit code. I am sure that the system has been upgraded numerous times since the decades past since I was there.

That's really exciting! I actually really like the LED L-Series, I know lots of people hate it, but I like it. I basically like all System Sensor alarms more than the Advance as Advances aren't my favorite besides being really easy to mount and use.

I live in Seattle and have never heard this tone in my life. I’m guessing some places might prefer a code 3 whoop tone in the modern day though. Every voice evacuation system I’ve heard in real life has used a slow whoop. That would be two Simplex systems, one with Wheelock vandal resistant LSM speaker strobes (if I remember correctly: that was like 15y ago but I distinctly remember an announcement very unfit for a single story building that said the word “walk” a ton, and the devices were square shaped with vertical strobes) another similar system with TrueAlerts, and a Gamewell FCI E3 system with the ceiling mounts featured here. I guess I was in a hospital when one went off as well, but that’s different. It was a Siemens system with Wheelock E70 speaker strobes set to a code 3 chime and “Code Red” message. All were in Seattle, and two were on college campuses. The Simplex with Wheelocks was at a preschool facility way back in the day at University of Washington. The Gamewell was a test in an academic building at my current college, Seattle University. Other Simplex was at the Seattle Center Armory food court, and it only did a very quiet whoop. Nobody reacted until staff members directed people out.

14:25 Isn't it so weird that you close the stopper cover on this type of pull station when it's activated even despite that the black tab flag that comes out from the bottom of it prevents you from reseting the stopper when they have a normal accessory/backbox type of the stopper and the pull station and the pull station won't reset the stopper cover when they have z certain accessory/backbox like the stopper is slightly protruding outwards with the pull station as well on a double gang retrofit box and not the SB/IO backbox which is just very weird like why doesn't the black tab on the pull station prevents resetting a stopper cover when they're using the normal accessory/backbox

This comment was pretty convoluted to read. I think you’re referring to the black tab that comes out of the BG-12 series when activated. If the black tab prevented the stopper from closing when activated, then the pull station wouldn’t be able to be activated
