I know you will get the best plate set that fits your needs. Having the exact equipment that is used at a meet really helped me. After loading my new 25kg plates for a while the 45lb plates seem really light now. I mix and match when I'm in a hurry. Conversion slows me down. Two 25 kg plates plus bar and callers are 165lb. Then I just start loading lb plates. My lifts aren't heavy so four 25kg plates on the bar won't be for a long time if ever. I lied four weeks before my meet I did two reds (each Side) on the bar for a deadlift. So what I'm saying calibrated plates are great to have when training for a meet.

@@BasementBrandon Awesome response. I agree about keeping on doing what you are passionate about. Kudos to you for sticking with it all these years. I started lifting in 2012 so it's been a journey as well since I'm almost 40 now. Thanks for all the content and stay strong!

When is the best time to buy equipment for a home gym? Black Friday? I'm budget conscious as well and building a home gym so I'm looking for sales.
@BasementBrandon5 жыл бұрын
b rob depends on the brand. Rogue only does sales on BF. Other suppliers will also have big Black Friday deals but usually also offer sales and discounts throughout the year.

@@BasementBrandon Thanks Brandon...and I was looking to get my plates and barbell from Rogue and everything else from other suppliers. So you answered my question. Thanks again and great video.
@BasementBrandon5 жыл бұрын
For me the struggle has always been BF usually doesn't line up with when I want something. If you can hold off you're likely to save a few hundred bucks.

@@BasementBrandon Okay cool...yes I'm sure I can hold off. I still have a gym at work i use so I'm not in a rush.

If you're budget conscious why not check Craigslist? Weight is weight. I built my home gym mostly with Craigslist. Over a ton of Olympic and the same in standard plates. Weighed all my 45s and they all fall between 44-46lbs.
@cs834nn5 жыл бұрын
you made the best choise selling your calibrate plates. l got just one pair of 25kg by rogue ,they are nice to see but rellly unconfotable to use every day specially if you get a home gym.

doesnt selling/ordering take more time/ effort than just moving the weights lol..?

@@bchoor You're toxic af - I bet you're the guy at restaurants that complains to the server that you don't like the food you ordered. You don't like it, don't order it again or don't go back there. You don't like the content, don't watch it. There's literally more content on KZbin than you could watch in a lifetime, and probably just on gym equipment alone. Masking your negativity as "feedback" is patronizing and useless. TL;DR: Fuck off.
