I did competitive gymnastics for 5 years when I was a child before I started doing a whole bunch of other sports. I’m 45. Ow and I swear what I got from gymnastics when I was 5-10 still benefits me to this day. 4 days a week 4 hrs a day of intense strength, flexibility and apparatus training, and I KNOW I still feel positive aspects from 30 years ago.

I would recommend using your main guard (high, standard, southpaw, peekaboo) while doing these as well, because many times youll have to use your footwork to get out of trouble when hurt, always putting your hands up even when doing drills that dont necessarily focus on the upper body, helps you condition it as second nature.
