The "Terminator" which goes in the end, is usually something that you are supposed to make yourself according to acme, by using an odd XLR plug, and connecting the internal terminals together, or something like that. It is to prevent electricity from going to a dead end or something, not too sure.

@Zman87gt terminators are only really required for cable runs of 100 meters upwards. This is because of they way the signal travels down the cable. The terminator should put a resistance between pins 2 and 3 of the DMX line. I believe 220ohms is the correct value but don't hold me to that.

It's actually a resistor solderd between the two pins! Dont just solder the two pins too eachother, that can damage the fixtures!
