Basic Eight 8

The basic eight contain in them basic aikido techniques and principles. They were created by Koichi Tohei Sensei as vehicles to preserve his aikido and as a gauges to measure students' progress. The word basic does not connote easy, merely that the techniques and principles embedded in the techniques are part of the foundation of aikido.
