This is SO helpful. I've started getting facials (Dermalogica Pro60 is 60 euros for an absolutely stunning experience at my local wee salon here) and I'm delighted to see your generally positive take on facials...I don't spend money on makeup or expensive skincare, and my skin at 40 is normal combination and wow, the difference is amazing. Also stops me from wrecking my own skin with DIY nonsense! As for the extractions, my esthetician was outstanding! Including milia removal. I'll be delighted to return (I was unsure as Dermalogica gets mixed press). Thank you so much doc. ❤

I find once every 2 months is plenty for me, but definitely it depends on your skin (mine can't handle too frequent facials). I hope I make it to 60, I have no problem ageing, as it is a gift to be older. My skin was horrible in my twenties, and now in my forties it is much better! @@CaroCollins100

Having diamond peel every 2 weeks for me is a bit too much, especially if you are using na dn naman products with exfoliants (eg AHAs). also it depends on the type of rejuv sets- i only recommend those not containing a lot of irritating ingredients together.

What I have observed in the Philippines is that there’s a lot of supposedly skin care professionals who don’t even know what they are doing . Apart from that a medical background is not an assurance for real knowledge on skin care.

For acne surgery (facials that are optionally performed as an adjunct treatment for acne patients) can be done as long as the patient can tolerate the procedure - because it can be uncomfortable. Acne surgery though is not a treatment for acne- acne medications parin ang first line of treatment with facials being an optional added procedure for some. Hi doc! Thanks for sharing.. if Vitamin D is essential on skin, is using sunscreen hinder the Vitamin D we can get from the sun.. because i’ve been watching some videos that if an individual could have vit. D deficiency makes them more prone to inflammation and sensitvity...

Shen Vent hi! Sunscreens dont block 100% of UV radiation but it does have an effect on vitamin D production on the skin. However, if you live in a tropical country (like the Philippines, for example) and you go out everyday and get a little bit of sun exposure on any body part, I dont think you are at risk for having Vitamin D deficiency. Also, you can also get some vitamin D from food sources such as fatty fish, eggs and dairy products. I still think that sunscreen application is essential in order to prevent skin cancer and minimize photoaging.

Hey,how about rosacea?
@irenegaile3 жыл бұрын
Facials for patients with rosacea you mean? It really depends on the severity and the subtype. Best to consult a dermatologist, get assessed and ask for recommendations :)

@irenegaile3 жыл бұрын
Aloe vera is more know for its soothing benefits. Unfortunately hindi cya indicated in the treatment of depressed scars, or even flat scars. There are other things you can use or apply to address your concerns :)

This is something you should talk about with your derm :)
