Thank you for the tutorial, I'm forty and never had the chance to mess around(had to work as a kid). Now I have the time and trying parkour. I won't be doing any flips but I find climbing and jumping quite practical. Especially here in the Philippines where things can get crazy sometimes.

Hey hey, how often are you planning on doing videos like these? I'm glad to see the channel is back, however long it might last. The tone of this video is great as well; it's great to revisit the basics! I would like to suggest teaching Negatives, climb ups and rolls next! Additionally, I'd like to ask a personal question - how do you correctly roll backwards if you land facing the wrong way, say off a higher vault?

I'm pushing 30 now and I've just got into parkour after a decade or so of skating, blading and bmx. My knees are shot, so I've been trying to teach myself how to jump and land without causing pain or further injuries. Thanks for this.

How to fall ? Safely .
@039stephen7 жыл бұрын
Some people might laugh at this but they're probably the ones that just go straight into the more difficult stuff without any thought for their health or how to land if they fall from a tall place.
@039stephen7 жыл бұрын
This actually helped because I tend to over squat. Also just a quick question. My feet naturally point outward so is it OK to land like that or is it still gonna come back to haunt me.
@StormFreerun7 жыл бұрын
Honestly not 100% sure as we're not experts on biomechanics. As far as we are aware it is a bad trait to encourage and can be fixed with specific training. Definitely worth doing some research into yourself :)
@jackthompson70767 жыл бұрын
the next one obviously has to be backflips
@Sgt.Shadowsong7 жыл бұрын
If this was the first one, wouldn't vaults/climb ups be more obvious.. 0o?
@jackthompson70767 жыл бұрын
fair point but what's the first question people ask you when you say you do parkour? "can you backflip?" "no but I can climb up" isn't the best answer to that question.
@Sgt.Shadowsong7 жыл бұрын
No but why do you think people associate parkour with a back-flip ;)? TBH I'd rather be able to do a proper muscle up (i know I wrote climb up) than the backflip but that's just me. Also I'd be glad if everyone stopped thinking parkour is only about the flips, if you want to see flips watch elite gymnasts.
