Thought I’d pass on a little trick I’ve learned. I have been tying paracord for a little over a year but have been asked to do a few macrame plant hangers. I learned that when doing spirals, I’ve purchased some “ Dog Leash clasps “. The ones that swivel. That way when your spiral begins to take shape, instead of it getting awkward to tie...or so that you aren’t trying to maneuver around it, it simply spins and you don’t have to move or work around it. A simple trick. Of course you need to us a hook so that it hangs as you tie.

Kelvin, how do you then attach to dowel or branch?

Thanks. So helpful!

@@susanwright351 I think you would attach the bottom of the clasp to a ring or run a small dowel through that loop and then on the clip end you would attach your macrame starting loop

What a fantastic tutorial!!! So perfect for impatient people like me 😅 You just jump right into the good stuff, but keep a nice slow and steady pace while teaching the knots so beginners can easily keep up and pause as needed! Also great that you first show an example of the knot you're going to demonstrate, and then you repeat each of the knots several times for practice. This video is a perfect example of how to properly teach a skill. I've been wanting to learn some more fiber crafts because crochet unfortunately hurts my wrists a lot, so it's hard for me to do it even though I love it. I'm hoping things like macrame and weaving will help me feel productive while I try to relearn better crochet technique. I look forward to learning more from your channel! Thanks 😄

It's so hard to find a macrame tutorial for left handers, but this one works really well with a couple of modifications. First, I added a browser extension called YT Mirror that allows me to flip the video on the vertical axis. Then I still had trouble because the narrator refers to "left" and "right" a lot, which still made it confusing. However, with the sound turned off I could follow along easily because the narrator does such a good job of showing what she's doing. Thank you so much! After many struggles, I feel like I can finally do this!

Thank you for a well good Tutorial I am glad I watched yours first I found you in Pinterest & came to KZbin to watch your video's . Years ago I made one of the bigest hanging basket for big pots the lady at the store told me if I made this pot I could make anything in Macrame . She showed me how to get started it wasn't a class she owned the store I think I had to go back a couple of times when I got stuck but I made it . Then I made hanging tables with a pot holder in the top they was beautiful . I was never taught what the knots or cords was called & that was many years ago but watching you & your video's I believe I will be able to start making things again . Thank you for taking the time to explain how to get started . I will be watching your video's 💯❤

Thank you so much Majestic macromae! Your technique is so clear and easy to follow along! is very direct and clearly indicated and right to the point you don't spend a lot of time talking about irrelevant things and your whole life story Before you get started either LOL! Sure it's nice once in a while but when you're trying to get down to the point I don't want to have to see a video for 25 minutes to 45 Minutes just to get to the point and get started LOL. They've got an over hour-long video just showing you how to do a design that should be fairly simple! It's very informative and using the thick white cord has definitely made a big difference and you don't have your hands going fast & in the way... 5:27 Because it trips up your viewers when you work with dark colors with a dark background with not very great lighting there's people who even have good lighting but their hands are in the way and they don't tell you the way you don't end your constantly having to go back and try to see what you're missing because it's not turning yell the way it should I'm good at following directions so you can only imagine how frustrating it is for somebody when they're trying to do something that seems so simple but They're not clearly indicating how things should be. You do it step for step in the most easiest way and you're not going too fast it's hard to follow. You could teach children easily how to do this you make it look so easy so I'm gonna have other styles now for this video just to see how good I can make my pieces look now certain ones I already knew like the Cobra stitch and the Twisted double knots one I forget what you call it but i always call it the twisted double helix because the way that it looks it looks just like ADN a strand LOL🧬
