Thanks for the video, this is exactly what i needed to see prior setting my first group of snares to nab the 'Yotes that decimated my laying chicken flock. Wasn't sure how to get them to hang where I need them to right in their heavily trafficked trails on my property due to being some distance from direct support. Thanks for taking the time to make the vids for us noobs.

Wow, right on for the personal reply. Is painting the snares worthwhile or baking soda boil enough? Lots of tall, 2 ft tall wild grass. Should I use bait/lure/scent? My yotes are quite brazen and not afraid of humans, how conscious of leaving my scent do I need to be? I’m not hunter/trapper and I haven’t gotten these bastard varmints with my shotgun or rifle yet, so snares are my only other legal option.
@BNOOutdoors5 жыл бұрын
@@Natedoc808 if your trapping under fences, brush, trails etc, just simply boil in baking soda and set outside it kills the shine. Sometimes I dont even use gloves and just set. If they are tricky in your area then use gloves. But to be honest I've never had a issue when I didnt wear them. The foothold set you need to control oscar slot better. No bait or lure for the snares catch them off guard going about there day. Hope this helps.

I'm just gonna chime in and say if you're going to snare animals check your snares very regularly. I freed a young coyote this AM from a neighbors fence snare as I could tell it had been there for quite some time with the snare around it's ankle and it was stressed and scared. I freed it as I didn't want to think of it suffering without food or water and possibly starving to death because whoever set the trap wasn't responsible enough to check it every day. Be kind at least.

Yes I agree I check mine sometimes twice daily
