Love watching your channel, always can learn something new. Dads a seasoned fisherman but has a short temper when hes on the fish and doesnt like to teach me new little tricks and tips ( comes from years of challenging him everytime we go out together since bout the age of 9 [ 24 now ] ) and its always nice to show him a new technique that I learned and spent countless hours practicing, and smoking him at it too. Iv used alot of your tricks and tips, you always make it easy to understand and show us how to use a bait or technique in a simple matter. Thanks again, and tight lines!!

Thanks, If you ever have any questions please don't hesitate to ask. Also, the reason I am where I am today in fishing is because of Bass Resource. It's the best place to jump start your bass fishing. Be sure to check them out. It's not your typical fishing website and forum plus it's totally free.

Have you tried a Wacky Rigged Senko or Dinger? bass love them. You won't get very big fish though. My average fish on the wacky rig is really only about 8 inches. Biggest I've caught was a 3-4lb Smallie(gopro footage on channel), and smallest is probably literally the size of your fist length-wise.

Pegging a weight means to stop it from sliding up and down the line. You do it when you want the weight to stay tight to the lure. A Carolina Rig has the weight several inches above the lure but the weight still slides up and down the line.

Very informative. When using Texas rigs I try to remember that the bullet weight (if not pegged or using a Predator) hits the bottom shortly before the plastic does and that's another reason to wait the 2-3 seconds to allow the worm or craw or tube to flutter down before starting the hop-hop or lift-drop.

I'm not knocking Havoc baits they are great and I've been playing with them since they were prototypes but most of the time when you get a bite before it hits the bottom it's a reaction bite so it really doesn't matter what lure you have on the hook. The difference is when the bait hits the bottom and sits there for a few seconds and the bass hits it even after getting a good look at it. That's when you know that you've tied on the right bait.

@niklaus4jc How big do the perch get in Germany? The rod and reel sound good if the perch average 1 to 2 Kilos and have soft mouths. You can use a Texas Rig on any size line and with any rod. If you use light line then use small, light wire hooks so you can get good hook penetration.

Nope. I fished the Brickyard several years ago. After two days of trying I started asking the guy who ran the place about management practices and there weren't any. People were allowed to keep every fish they caught resulting in massive over harvesting. That was over about 10 years ago and I've never gone back.

I feel that a swivel adds unwanted weight to the front of the hook. Added weight affects the action of the plastic. My suggestion is pick a knot and learn how to tie it fast or have one rod set up for raps and one for soft plastics.

Awesome video. I never use a weight really, I'm never fishing with them in rough water so I never need a weight, and it also looks nice floating to the bottom and you can create slower movement without using a weight.

I don't know why the bass most of the Time are not picking up my Texas rigged worm off the bottom I'm fishing at a lake where there is clear water and most of the time the bass are attacking lures that are slowly suspended, so I decided to give this technique a shot, so if I'm doing anything right with this technique give me a thumbs up! 👍🏼 Medium light a six-foot rod Trilene four pond test; so what type of hook set works for this line. Roboworm for soft plastics Ewg straight shank worm hook And how many twitches do you do for that bait and then after the bass noses it and picks it up? Thank you God bless!

this tip may help as well. Along with a 7' MH rod, it helps if the tip is slow but with a good backbone. You'll need to pull the fish from cover, but that slow tip will keep the rod bent and the fish from using the weight to shake the hook.

nice video...with a texas rig i see alot of people having their hook at the very top of their bait leaving the eye of their hook exposed and coming into contact with the weight...I like to thread my hook down a little further...protects my knot and seems to help with hook ups..

And since I have a shorter rod than the most commonly used 7ft rods, do you think I should be spending most of my time flipping under docks since shorter rods increase more accuracy than s medium heavy or a heavy baitcaster?

This is true, it seems like when I use a larger creature bait this happens more. I hardly ever get a reaction bite from a straight tail worm. Maybe that's because I usually don't go heavier than 1/4 spot remover on a worm. Usually I choose more weight with thicker baits. for what ever reason. A big weight on the end of a worm makes me worry that you'll lose the action of the bait.?? What do you think

Now, If you're fishing plastic crawdad.(ragetails) for example. You would want the bullet weight right on the rear of it to give it that "defense" stance? Thanks for the help.

Thank you for your fast reply. Well the top row is 60 cm and about 4 kg, they can even get bigger, but usually they are much smaller. But if I catch a 1 kilo perch it´s already pretty high for the lake where I´m fishing, they can get 2 or 3 kilo, but I think not where I fish. I found out that the Tailwalk Del Sol S702ML is a spinnig version, the S in front of the name, the casting version in 7 feet is heavier and is about 3/16~1, which is to high. So I have to search for another one

Ever try placing a bobber stopper right above the bullet weight to reduce the probability of the weight pulling your worm into a snag? This occurs sometimes when dragging the worm over a log.

Ok, so with the Texas rig all I basically need to do is flip it out there, and follow it withy rod as it sinks but being careful to let it sink naturally on a slack line, and then once it hits the bottom I wait for a couple seconds, bounce it off of the bottom a few times, then reel it in and go again?
