Just recently, this has been working well for me, in more of a quick attack fashion, basically in escaping side control. From side control, I first get on my side facing away, get up on my elbow then as soon as I turn to turtle, I focus on feeling for his hand that's coming in to my side -- and go quickly. If there's no hand there, I just pull them into closed guard. I learned this from a guy who called it the steamroller. The problem I had in the past, I would give guys too much time to think about jumping to the other side or basing way out so my best success has come from doing it super quick.

Thanks for the input Marvin. Your comment has added more to my knowledge base. I used the Peterson Roll when I was competing with good results and there are a lot of situations that crop up from this position. Thanks again for your insight.
