This was a great video! I ordered my z6iii last night. Been using my z9 since it came out and love it! I shoot real estate photos/videos and hoping I can put away my z9 for just wildlife shooting now. Hoping the “flicker issue” won’t get in the way of things but I feel confident it won’t. I have learned how to expose my z9 to avoid noise as much as possible so, here is to a smooth transition. 🤞🏻

The Z6III is a great camera, and I’m confident you'll love it! As I said , I haven’t run into the “flickering issue.”

@ well three real estate jobs later and I love the z6iii. My last project was a poorly lit interior and handled the task perfectly! No flickering shadows. I did have a small amount of noise in one shot but was easily handled by a bit of noise reduction. Super happy with this camera and happy I never let the doom and gloomers persuade me differently. Thanks for all you do Raymond. 🫡

I'm really impressed with the Nikon Z6III's video capabilities! The 10-bit and RAW recording options are game-changers for quality. I appreciate how user-friendly it is, especially with the dedicated photo/movie switch. Customizing the I-menu for quick access to features like focus peaking is such a handy addition! Great review!

Another great video .. next you got to tackle NLE for Nikon cameras, NLE timeline management and audio syncing. Always look forward to your videos. You give straight forward explanations.

Thanks very much for your videos. I’m learning so much and am at the point where I feel confident using a flat profile for better editing. Keep these videos coming please?
@RaymondParkerPhoto4 ай бұрын
Great to hear! I think it's safe to say Nikon's Flat profile is highly regarded among colourists. Certainly it's a gateway drug to creative grading. 😀

Thanks for the overview. Recently got the Z6iii and must say I’m a bit overwhelmed to the point I was thinking of selling it. But after practicing with it for a few days and watching this video I am feeling some hope. I still find the menus daunting but hopefully I can figure it out. 😅
@RaymondParkerPhotoАй бұрын
Glad to help. As someone who's been around Nikon menus for more than a decade I can say that I don't use all available options. But the cameras are packed with incredibly useful controls and settings. Hang in there; you'll figure out what you need as you become familiar with what, right now, looks like an overwhelming array of options. The User Guide can be a great help too.

Fantastic series on the Z6III Ray! Quite a jump from my D780. Hey, did you record this video in H.265 10-bit SDR or something else? The color depth and separation look fantastic!

thanks! Yes, H.265 10-bit SDR

Hi Ray, great videos thank you. Would you be able to share a video on recording to the Atamos as it seems Pre res Raw is not supported like it is with the Z6ii or Z6.
@RaymondParkerPhoto4 ай бұрын
Hi Anthony, TBH, since (as noted) the Z6III records ProRes Raw internally, I've never had the occasion to record to the Ninja V. I'll check when I get back to my studio (I'm away for a few days).
@anthonyparkinson84333 ай бұрын
@@RaymondParkerPhoto Thanks Ray, I'm pretty sure it's not possible...At least for Pro res Raw. I use Premiere Pro so learning Da vinci is a route i don't want to go unless I have to..old dogs new tricks! Any chance you'll do a more pro based video for recording / grading / exposures etc and raw recording? That would be great and thank you..;)

Well as event photographer would like to see how Z6III performs under LED,Mix lighting and with speedlight on camera falsh.. Would like to know if it does a better job with electronic shutter speed and avoid banding etc .. comparing too Z6II ! And if they have improved on camera flash photography!

The 800 base iso with n-log was driving me nuts. So I shot PR Raw in SDR at 100 iso and then switched the footage to n-log after importing into FCP. It looked better. Is that a sensible workaround or am I missing something?
@RaymondParkerPhotoАй бұрын
I haven't used that procedure. My first thought is that it might be more straightforward to use 10-bit SDR when conditions warrant. But I'm not sure what your needs are. What about 800 ISO drove you nuts?
@splicekittyАй бұрын
@@RaymondParkerPhoto Thanks. There was a lot of noise in background at 800 iso. When I switched to SDR at 100 iso the background was a lot smoother.

Stupid question---why do some call it "Zed"?
@RaymondParkerPhotoАй бұрын
Quite simply "zed" is the English/Canadian pronunciation of "z." I was born and raised in England and emigrated to Canada in my teens.
