For two-way slab : In the real world practice, is it acceptable that load carried by short beam is W x (L short/2); long beam is W x (L short/2), the load considered there is rectangular not trapezoidal and triangular. W is in kN/m2. Thanks in advance for the reply.

this will be conservative and your beams will be over-designed (meaning: you will be loading them with more than the real load).
