Fantastic. I've been in the market for a sampler (like the Elektron Model:Samples) for a project I'm working on - but this video has convinced me to save my money (at least for now) and just get Beatmaker 3 instead. Thanks dude!!!

Great tutorial and tips. Some are not so obvious and can help to understand BM3. What a spectacular app if you take the time to learn it.

Great stuff Jason, very informative and good to see Polish jazz in sampling action in BM3. Skalpel did some magical stuff with these kind of samples...

Great video! You should consider putting it on BM3 forum, to get some well deserved visibility 😉

Ah thanks for the encouragement! Do you think it would be suitable there? Seems they might already have content for most situations already.

is it possible to record internally? for example, if i wanted to record/sample audio that is playing on youtube simultaneously on my ipad, can i do that?
@djpuzzleofficial5 жыл бұрын
You can't record from KZbin directly that way BUT you can use the iOS screen record to record the KZbin sample and open it with Audioshare. Then open it in BM3 that way.

hey jason, great video as always! we need as many of these as we can get in the bm3 community. and as someone else said ...mosdef post it in the intua forum as well! also, when naming the samples.. i noticed it automatically selected 'all' and you named the sample without the .wav at the end. not sure if beatmaker will have a problem with this .. [though, if you'll notice, it did change the icon to what looks like a file icon ] but other apps might. And i've noticed in BM3 when renaming samples it helps to be just a tiny bit more descriptive ...in this case something like 'vinyl snare' ... so when you're looking through all your samples in the main samples folder you don't have like 35 samples all called ' snare 1 '. even though we are all guilty of this. ha! -cheers

BitterGums great info! Sorry I didn't include it in the video. Perhaps they will address the file format thing. Almost evening out there will maintain the proper file extension when renaming a file.

Is their a bug that prevents from resampling the main out to a pad? I can sample from apps to pad no problem but when I select a new bank, pad then select record I get nothing?

To what extent do you think ipads are integrated in professional music production? I mean are a large number of pros using ipads and are many using ipads as the main device, replacing laptops. My guess is that ipads are definitely used by most but rarely are they only using ipads. I keep thinking that if apple releases a 16gb of ram ipad with a 1 or 2 gb drive and a usb c port then they will replace laptops for many vecause of the portability with no loss of functionality.
@djpuzzleofficial6 жыл бұрын
Well I can say that I am a music professional and by that I mean I do it full time to pay my bills. I own a legit music business which is an S Corp (for tax purposes). So speaking as someone who composes and licenses music for a living I can honestly say that I've used nothing but an iPad to write and produce several songs that have been placed in sync deals (networks like CNN and Nicktoons to name two). Do I JUST use an iPad 24 7? Nope. It all depends on what I'm working on. Like you said the iPad can't handle all my professional Kontakt instruments for example so I still have to use my desktop for certain scoring jobs but I can think of ways to write and produce effective music for licensing using the palette I have available on my iPad. The limitations can be inspiring at times and frustrating at times. Thing is there still isn't a huge user base out there in regards to music production on an iPad it's still a very small niche community compared to those who are writing and producing professionally using mroe capable computers. There are tablets out that can can run Windows 10 programs so it's not all that far fetched I mean after all that is what an iPad is , another tablet. Why they don't make an iPad with more ram and storage yet is kinda strange. Maybe they want to milk it and sell people slower machines to lock in more customers. I haven't really given it much thought.
@perrypelican94766 жыл бұрын
Dj Puzzle iPadLoops yeah, the strangeness comes from the fact that apple controls it completely.if IOS was licensed to other tablet makers, we would have whatever we wanted. So our main piece of gear can never be improved beyond what apple wants, and i agree that for them its all about a marketing strategy, which is sad. Thanks for the clarity. You really enlightened me about some things that i was curious about.
