My bike motor started developing carburetor problems. The motor surges and it does not idle any more. I was still able to get home. But The engine would not run unless I keep adjusting the choke lever. And also lost some power
@Agreenarmoury7 жыл бұрын
Gilbert Arciniega you may have to clean the jet. Sometimes trash can get in the carb from tank (yes, through the filter) and clog the main jet.
@fueledbymusic37 жыл бұрын
Hi Terrence! Hey thanks for this info. YES, I got my bike going again! You know what happened, the entire jet assembly came off! All I did was rescrewed it in. But then it did not want to start anymore. I take apart again. And the hole in the jet was indeed clogged. Got a pin and cleared the clog. AND WALLA! Like new again!!!!!!

I need more fuel..I have done a reverse jug and placed the carb and intake in the front and the exhaust in the rear...runs really good but cuts out at full throttle...my plug stays white/slightly gray..which to me means it's running too lean...too much air and not enough fuel..also why I'm burning up piston rings..which oil is mixed with fuel on two stroke engine..everyone says to add more oil..but I know 40:1 is perfectly fine..it's the lack of fuel and oil getting into the engine..once I get more fuel in, more oil will also get in..it's not my oil to fuel ratio problem, it's my fuel/oil delivery problem..more air requires more fuel..like a turbo v8..bigger injectors help for this delivery...so is putting a bigger jet in, my only way to compensate for the extra air? Or is there something else that I can do to help?

Hello Mr Brunson, I have installed this nt carb on a 79cc predator engine. So you have any suggestions on what size main jet runs best on a stock engine? Thank you

Can any NT carb adjustments be made to improve cold starting the engine?
@Agreenarmoury4 жыл бұрын
Pretty much the only thing that can help cold starting the engine is the choke. Once you get the main jet and needle settings dialed in, you might not even need the choke on a warm day. Aside from jetting and needle settings, get a good spark plug, set the gap properly, and definitely change the spark plug wire for a better quality one and you should have a solid running engine.
@robc84684 жыл бұрын
@@Agreenarmoury Thanks I will try putting in an NGK B6HS Plug and measure the plug wire resistance. Already set the gap to .028".....I am about 700 ft above sea level I was wondering if the engine is 100% stock I was thinking of rejetting to about a #66 jet also. I heard the NT carb comes at #70 jet but have not checked the stock jet size on mine.
@Agreenarmoury4 жыл бұрын
@@robc8468 I believe the most commonly used one is the 70, but the measurements on them can be a little off. That's why I like using the micro drill bits. You can play with the jet sizes by soldering and drilling, almost as much as you want. Sounds like you're on the right track though. Good luck!

My bike automatically speeds up to about 15 miles per hour with no throttle and when i pull in the clutch it revs really high and loud... like somethings gonna get broken high. Its brand new so i know this is gonna be real bad if i dont fix it. Do u know what it could be? I slowly put in the choke and that slowed it down but it stalls when i give it throttle when i do that
@levistrnad29655 жыл бұрын
Wait, doesent that just adjust the idle? I tore one of these same exact carbs apart and it seems like maybe that it just moves the needle and opens up the air intake witch would increase or decrease speed. Edit: ooooookkkkkkk so sorry you explained basically everything I said I guess I missed it, the actual tuning would make more sense.

rabbit 16 I’d say get it to half first, start the engine and let it idle,if it starts to die tighten it abit and if it’s sounds like it’s revving high loosen the screw. Abit of a late responce and you’ve probably found what ur looking for but just in case anyone else is wondering

My bike accelerates automatically! The only think that would make it stop was flipping up the choke switch. Kill switch didn't work at all, and throttle seems to make no difference.
@TheEnragedGamer5 жыл бұрын
I agree with this guy as well almost always it's an air leak in the intake manifold so check your gaskets and tighten your bolt. I've also have this issue when my jet came unscrewed it would bflood the carb and wouldn't allow any throttle control it accelerate on its own

Picked up a 5 mm Jet Kit of 21 jets for the 80cc engine. Most engines come with a #70 jet. I am at 774 feet elevation, so my engine seems to be running way to Rich. A #65 jet was suggested so I tried it, to rich. Now, I'm thinking of going to a #72, because the hole "looks" smaller, leaner? Using the throttle...full throttle with the #70 jet, the engine seems to "pop" a rich running sound, back off the throttle to 1/4, the engine seems to "clear", RPM's come up as does felt power. To me this is running way to rich. Open to full and it stumbles, kinda clears, not running as strong as it was at a very low throttle. Anyone else working with the Main Carb Jet? I have thought about putting a "Walbro" Carburetor on the engine, but I don't want to drill a hole in the side of the engine for the "pulse" of pressure that operates the diaphragm fuel pump inside of the carb. This is the type of carb that is on just about every Weed Eater, Chainsaw, Backpack blower. I want to be able to adjust the High and Low Jets. I use the Stehl Chainsaw 2 cycle HP oil and 92 gas mixed at 40 - 1.
@sundial69193 жыл бұрын
I think youre hot on the trail w the Walbro idea , was thinking same thing , Walbro from a 60cc saw , Echo 620P for example if it would bolt on w out mod except for drilling pulse port would be better all the way aroun an would be easier to get to air filter better . I have to unbolt manifold to clean filter

my carb isnt sending fuel to my engine. how can i fix that?
@Phillijr1007 жыл бұрын
Capt. Bacon sometimes the jet gets gummed up or blocked. Take a thin wire and push it through the jet.
@haydenb89117 жыл бұрын
Capt. Bacon I would clean the carburetor. First remove the air filter so you can access the two black long Alan bolts. Unscrew both bolts and you should have the carburetor off. Take the carburetor completely apart as he has it in the video and blow compressed air through everything, especially that main jet. Next I would but it isn’t necessary, get carburetor cleaning fluid and soak every part in it overnight. Re assemble the carburetor and re attach it to the engine. Done

what jet do u recommend in a speed NT carb
@tomecalm74 жыл бұрын
I have a 4 stroke 49cc. Stock carb is too lean, so I changed to NT. Now , no matter what I do, It runs rich. Live in FL, so pretty much at sea level. Presently have a #61 jet with the needle in the leanest position. Still runs too rich. I am at wits end with this. And am seriously considering just selling the whole damn POS! Please help me before I take a shotgun to it.
@Agreenarmoury4 жыл бұрын
So you might have an issue with float level being too high if you're experiencing an over-rich condition with that small of a jet. You also might want to move the needle clip up a notch or 2. Make sure the choke is off too, and you might need to change the spark plug if it's really fouled. I'm not really the biggest fan of the NT carburetor though. I made these videos because I kept getting asked so many questions, but I personally use a PZ16. It's a pretty similar carb, but it has a separate idle mixture screw that makes it run so smooth at idle and transition. Good luck!
@levistrnad29655 жыл бұрын
Anyone who sees this comment I have a solution to motors like these not running good, mine was whenever I hit throttle the engine stalled out, well what most possibly happens was the float inside card leaked and filled with gas making it not..... Float.
