Yeah buddy has absolutely no idea what the status quo pass looks like in this sport.. these are insane, threaded and weighted perfectly and usually not what is attempted by most. Having 4-5 defenders closing in on you, preventing the angles also makes an opening less likely.. but he said this as if it makes it easier.

The thing about Messi is he makes the most ridiculously impossible things look kind of ordinary. Some of those passes are almost impossible to pull off. Not only is his vision insane, he also has the technical ability to put the right spin and weight on the pass. It’s hard fully appreciate what he can do if you don’t play/watch the game consistently.

"Why do these look offside?" It's because his teammate was not offside at the moment when the pass was struck. At that very moment, that's when his teammate would finally start moving forward while the defense remain where they are, making him LOOK offside to the untrained eye.
