This was an even game heading the fourth quarter. The Blazers definitely came to play, and had real belief they could come back from 3-0. And the Mavs were finally able to turn it on in the fourth quarter. But they were very fortunate. They were choking hard. And having this series get dragged to 7 games, and then having to go 7 against the Kings is probably what burned them out when they played the Spurs.

Really more because Dirk sprained his ankle. Basketball doesn’t quite run you down over a long playoff run the way hockey does.

@@untexanActualy basketball does wear you down more than you think. Just ask Shaq and Kobe after leading the Lakers to 3 straight finals appearances dealing with nagging toe, ankle and knee injuries in 2003 and 2011.

Serves Scottie right. He’s always been an overrated defender. Ppl act like he was the best defender in the 90s, even tho MJ, Rodman, Dumars, Gary Payton, Jason Kidd, Mutombo, Hakeem, Admiral, & Mourning we’re far superior, LMAO. 😂🤣

This was also the end of the Blazers as we knew them always being in the postseason since the late 1970's when Bill Walton first won the NBA title with them. I dont think Portland ever missed the postseason from the time Bill Walton won the NBA title with Portland until this 2003 postseason. After this 2003 postseason, Portland wont be in the postseason until the 2009 playoffs

It's the curse of Bill Walton that only allows Drexler and Pippen sidekick good lead guys to try and win championships with. Lillard fits in. Aldridge. Isiah Rider. Jim Jackson. Steve Smith. Scottie Pippen. Clifford Robinson. Arvydas Sabonis. Jerome Kersey. Rasheed Wallace. Clyde Drexler. Buck Williams. Danny Ainge. Terry Porter. Jim Paxson. Kiki Vandeghwe. Maurice Lucas. All fit in. Under Jordan. The Almost Trailblazers.

The 03 Blazers should have been the FIRST team to win a best of 7 down 3-0. They totally mess it up. The Mavericks weren't the better team that day, the Blazers simply messed it up.
