Robert Wadlow also had a condition that made his growth rapid and nonstop, and by the time he died at 22 (8'11) he was probably still growing. Mohamed most definitely won't grow that rapidly and for a ten year span, he'll most likely turn out anywhere from 7'2-7'6. The tallest man WITHOUT any type of condition boosting his growth was Angus Macaskill, and he was 7'9. If Mohamed was on the same growth path as Robert, he would most likely be very immobile and need to walk around with a cane, like Wadlow, and unable to play basketball.

Agreed. The issue is he gets screwed by losing years he could make it to the league by being say 16 when he is actually 19. He gets blocked from being drafted for 3 more years and developing as an NBA player. Assuming he will ever be good enough. If the goal is to scam a team into drafting a 23 year old thinking they are 19 and thinking they have all this potential when they are pretty much a finished product, then sure. But teams are also getting smarter at drafting these guys and ignoring their ages.

People are not open to realize we are going to change physically as we continue to evolve especially in sports. Look at Track n Field. Athletes back in the day can't compete with modern day athletes. look at basketball, kids leaping way above the rim and doing dunks you never SEEN BEFORE and compared from back in the day. Remember Vince Carter dunk contest in 2000? did Jordan or Dominique do anything remotely like Vince did in 2000? and no less then 5 years later, young kids are now doing his between the leg dunk with ease and won't win you a dunk contest for that matter. Nice prospect, the only problem with this young prodigies is that they are pushed to much and to early into professional sport, and that means no life and no childhood, and they tend to get seriously injured very early in career, because they push to much to early, everyone being expecting from them only perfection and the best... It is always a question of longivity of such prospects, I seen already two our local prodigies that got crippling injury in age of 15-16, and never could after that play at professional level, and they were pushed very hard by surroundings from exactly that 12 years age to be next stars, and especially to play non-stop with categories older then them... And maybe if they had standard development with their own generation they would come to age 18-20 as fully developed players and leave some mark. Modern profesional sport is actually cruel and brutal to human body, and for too young, pshysically not yet fully developed youngsters, it is twice more cruel and brutal.

Great point. In one of my previous videos about AAU basketball in the USA, I mention an article about why there are more injuries in the NBA now than ever and being pushed to play too much too early is one of the main reasons. Because of this, guys reach their potential earlier, get injured more, thus we have load management in the NBA

@@AugustasSuliauskas Yea, in USA it is already system: exhaust them to early and to hard, even before they stop growing, pressuring them to "succeed or fail whole life" if they don't get to NBA... They practically play already on coledge professional basketball, being even payed for that...

@@TheNmitch2311 Hm, and than the best basketball player in the world is chubby kid that really started to train basketball seriously at 17... And you are in delussion about athletics, especially olympic disciplines. It is not evolution, it is just professionalising sport. 30 year ago, that was not profitable sports. People was working their daily jobs 8-10 jours, trained in their free time and compette when they could to get some results and enter national teams (when they might, but not always, get finance from the state to focus on their sport...). Today you have organizied selection from youngest age, by 16, you already have stable pool of athlets that could perform on olympic level. That is why you get better and better athlets. But again, there is a dark side of that system. For example, in top swimming competition you have 5-10 top swimmers per country, maybe 20 from bigger countries, and to get 10 such athlets in age 20, you had to work with 100-200 16-18 years old, and to get that 100-200, you had to work with 1000-2000 14-year old. And they have full professional training from age 14, and that mean life dedicated to discipline. Now you ask yourself what hapenned to that 1000-1999 people in generation that didn't become Fellps... And they trained as hard as him... Dedicating everything in life to that goal... and they were ditched somewhere in the process because of 0.02 seconds not good enough... It is litle less brutal in popular sports, because if you are not good enough for major top league, every country has lower leagues, where you can still earn some living just of sport, but it is still brutal for many kids when they dedicate everything in their youngest years and then come to the point they cannot enter professional sport...

What casts doubt on his age is not so much his size as his mobility and athleticism. But his face looks young - 16 years old max And even if he is indeed 16 years old he would still be phenomenal for his age. -I have a question : in this video, what is the height of the baskets? Is it 3.05m?

There are still many places, particularly in Africa, where there are no official administrative registers for births. This means that many people do not know exactly when they were born and that they are subsequently given estimated dates of birth... sometimes effectively with the aim of allowing them to join sports training centers by making them pass themselves off as prodigies younger than their real age (and therefore further ahead of others of the same age). For Dabone, if within 3 years he will have finished growing, the problem will be resolved.

Many folks in this forum are saying no way based on WHAT THEY HAVE SEEN now, and, in the past. This kid here, although doing things we never seen as 12 year old, peoples are basing their judgment on THEY NEVER SEEN THIS BEFORE. Now, you think this is amazing, wait until you see what a 10 year old is going to do maybe 20 to 30 years from now, and Guess what?, most of us won't be around to see this human wonder of evolution.

As Carl Sagan said: "Extraordinary claims require extraordinary evidence". "Passport checking out" is not going to cut it I'm afraid. While some kids mature a bit earlier, I've never seen anyone that size move or play like that at 12 - not even close. I would not be surprised if he's actually 18. I would love it if he was actually 12 or 13, it would be super interesting to track his progress. But fantasy is one thing, reality quite another.

I didn't really understand it as a kid so we didn't get along much throughout my teenage years. I'm thankful he did it looking back because I was able to develop a crazy work ethic and was able to land a good paying job. @@BloodSynthetic You weren´t talking about chances in your OC. You said you were CERTAIN and that this guy CANNOT be the next big thing. So, make up your mind, because there was no chance in those statements. And by the way, you JUST DON´T KNOW what you are talking about. Every person in the NBA is an extreme height person. Just 1% of the population is above 6'7''. And many 7ft or more have played many seasons in the NBA: Shaq, KD, KG, Pau Gasol, Wilt, Manute Bol, Marc Gasol, Mark Eaton, Rik Smits and the list goes on and on. And they were from many different sizes and frames. So being skinny is no less dangerous than being overbuilt. Some people are more injury prone than other and the reasons remain unknown so far. The medical care, sport science, training methods, nutrition and so are always updating in the pro sports field so maybe, MAYBE, by the time this kid hits the pro level people his height are taken care better than ever. Years ago an ACL was career ending or the torn of the achilles but nowadays, players can recover from that and keep playing. YOU JUST DON´T KNOW.
