Could you use a bass boat on a bay? I live in the panhandle of FL, I love to bass fish, but I also like to fish the bay for reds and specs, would that be a bad idea to take a bass boat out on the bay?

Bass boats are specifically designed for fresh water use, so it's not advised. Certain materials that are commonly used to build bass boats (steel, aluminum, carpet) are at risk of corrosion/degradation by the salt water. Bass boat motors are also not designed to handle the corrosive nature of bay water. So... while you technically CAN use it, it's going to be very tough on your bass boat.

With all of the technology today, why wouldn’t you just take ten guys to your Super Walmart parking lot, count 1, 2, 3… then have them all run inside, grab the biggest fish they can find in the seafood department, then run back to the parking lot to weigh their fish?? After that, give some one a plastic trophy, go to the lake with their buddies (I’m assuming the wives are at home), take out a $200 boat and enjoy a couple of beers and call it a day.
