Mate where did you come up with the name of your channel? I like it. Very nice.
@SlippyLimpets Жыл бұрын
It was just a random comment between me and my missus during a walk along rocks at low tide. Normally limpets offer a bit of grip on slippery rocks, but on this particular walk the limpets were covered in green weed. I said to the missus 'watch out for those slippy limpets' and that was it. The name of my blog and then youtube channel was coined. 👍🎣

Another brilliant video and keeping 1 fish in 4 year is some good going, well done you. Each trip i do whether its for 1 night or 3 nights i keep a Pollock (only if over 4lb) and make a Pollock hash which is amazing especially when loads of black pepper added.

Great video mate and great commentary, really enjoyed it. Never done an open fire or BBQ with Bass. Other fish I catch, plenty of times, but not Bass. It’s my main target species and eating fish, but I just can’t bring myself to dispatch and cook them. Weird I know. I’m just glad I’ve been able to catch it and want to get it back in the water safe to catch another day. My mates think I’m weird, but I just can’t do it. It just feels a little too special to have a muppet like me eat it. Not being righteous or anything, I think it’s great that responsible fishermen and women are rewarded with such a great experience after catching one of these beauties and long may that continue. Tight lines
@SlippyLimpets4 жыл бұрын
I know what you mean mate, I normally put all of my fish back not just bass so, I didn't include it in the video, I had to have a word with myself before dispatching it. Still, 1 kept bass in 4 years of bass fishing isn't too bad a ratio and probably made it more tasty. Thanks for watching and tight lines👍🎣

I have a tape measure from UKBASS.COM that gives fish length to weight. I'll list some info below. But man that looked a tasty campfire meal. cheers 44cm = 2lb 47.5cm=2.5lb 51cm=3lb 53cm=3.5lb 56cm=4lb 58cm=4.5lb 60cm=5lb 62cm=5.5lb Ive found the scale to be totally accurate with the fish I have caught in that range. I'll leave it there if you need bigger sizes get yourself a tape from their website.
@SlippyLimpets4 жыл бұрын
Thanks for the info. I've used measures like that before but, maybe it's the areas I fish, they tend to be well out. Just a few weeks ago I landed a fish at 58cm but weight 5.7lb. So, tend to ignore those measures now. Point taken about the weight I mentioned in the video though, I used the fish I mentioned above as a benchmark, but it was probably closer to 3 than 5!
