@@Yammie_Moto671 I remember watching a metallica documentary where they interviewed one of the producers for AJFA, apparently he hated the lack of bass and didn't understand why they wanted it to sound like that so much where he actually quit...until someone dragged him/motivated him back into it.

I do NOT comment on youtube. Just never had the desire for an unwarranted, pointless online argument... but this has finally broken me. As a guitar player from age 10 and listening to all the real Metallica stuff back when it was released, I've heard a LOT of different bass players play. Some were truly incredible. But I have to say, man, that, unless this is somehow post-produced/spliced/edited/otherwise toyed with (and I do NOT think it is), then you have edged your way into the most incredible bass player I've had the honor and good fortune to be able to watch perform, even if only via video, and not in real life. Even so... wow, I'm... I'm really *not* someone who is ever at a lack for words, but... I sincerely don't have the means currently at my disposal to accurately relate how absofuckinlutely AMAZING your playing is. I... I'm completely blown over, dude. (And yeah, I also do *not* blow sunshine up people's buttholes, _especially_ not strangers, and online on top of it! But I couldn't care less at the moment. This is absolutely spectacular, SPECTACULAR playing. The tone, the precision, just.. everything. Thank you very, very much for providing this opportunity to watch you play.) PS - Oh yeah, forgot to even mention, thanks for recording *BY FAR* the best version of Justice I've ever heard. SPEC TAC U LAR, dude. Spectacular. Just absolutely frickin sublime. I'm.... wow.

I’m a total beginner and I have to ask: do you just memorize the hundreds of notes you’re playing? How do you go from not knowing a song to knowing it without looking? To me it’s magic
@ZmeyYuri10 ай бұрын
i learn them bar by bar, imagine each bar as a melody, then they do come together as pieces of a puzzle and many repeat at that start with easier songs (songs with simple repetitive structure), nothing too fancy, perhaps some blink 182 or the strokes, don't start with difficult stuff like Bloody Stream by coda or Golden Wind, as those are reaaalllly advanced
@irynaburkatska391010 ай бұрын
This is called musical memory. The entire song, even a large and very complex one, consists of individual elements (parts). First, you learn them separately and bring each of them to automaticity. You play them faster and slower than necessary to achieve the perfect execution at the right tempo. Then you put everything together and memorize large pieces, and so on until you play everything. Nothing complicated. Many blocks are repeated many times, the main thing is to remember their correct sequence. Good luck to you.
