New sub here. Enjoying so far. As someone who just started fishing again after 20 years last summer I am enjoying your enthusiasm. One thing I’ve learned once I decided I will be tournament fishing next year is practicing Catch Photo Release. Put your left side of your ketch board all the way at the bottom on your boat so it tilted down towards the mouth of the fish. When the fish flops there a big likelihood of it flopping right out of the boat m. If it’s lower in the gunnel you’re protected a little better. Some guys even prop their nets up on the side to catch it. Good luck and tight lines!

Thank you! I most definitely need to start practicing taking the photos. That's a 10 idea. I'll start doing that in my next videos. Don't want to have a fish jumpin out the boat on a future tournament day.

@@NWTrailSeries Sounds like a plan. Lots of lakes close here on Oct 31 so make sure you check before you go. Also in the spring you should come with me to one of my favorite lakes a little farther up north. Won’t say the name on KZbin but guarantee you will catch some nice ones.

Im in Western Wa! And to be honest, I'm not %100 percent sure what tournaments I'm doing. I got the tourneyx app, and wanna do whatever little tournaments i can for practice. But im hoping to go to whatever in person tournaments i can. All the gas and tournament fees will be the biggest obstacle for me, but crossing my fingers that this channel is up and running enough to help by then 😀
