Debo, thank you. I was an avid fisherman as a teenager and into my 20’s before life took over and presented other priorities. 30 years later I’m coming back into it (and as a new kayak fisherman as well) and have found that what little knowledge I’d retained was obsolete. Your channel, by presenting beginners (or re-treads like me) with elegantly simple yet comprehensive methods in a highly entertaining manner has been a wonderful part of my bass fishing (re)education. Did I mention I’m also trying to learn a baitcaster as well? (Awesome video that btw) Fantastic presentations, informative and entertaining. Well well done sir! Jim (Nantucket Turnings)

Nantucket, im In the same boat as u. Now i try to go fishing 3 out of 4 weekends. I go by myself cause no one is into bass fishing seriously for me to fish with. Damn , i hear u on tbe damn baitcasters. I bought my 1st and decided since im late to the game, bought a shimano curado dc to help with the learning curve faster. I can throw it now sidearm well, but need more practice with overhead cast.

I have been catching with the stickbait a lot this season. My go to is the Yum Dinger both weighted and weightless on a Texas Rig (black is my favorite color to use). I find Yum to be pretty inexpensive and very durable. It just seems to catch fish in my area (Maine). Great video by the way.

I subbed the minute, you said, you were from the mid-west. I live in a somewhat rural town, South of St Louis and know, what it's like, trying to catch that dream trophy. I caught my 7 pounder on a smoke and pearl KVD 5 inch senko, this past fall. Texas rigged, twitch, twitch, pause style. I didn't even know it was there until my line started moving, with out my help. I thought, surely, my medium light action spinning rod was going to snap in half, if my 17 pound mono didn't break,first. Happily both held and I landed the beast. She at least 22 inches long and 7 from belly to dorsal fin. Wish we could share pics on hear.

Just started bass fishing about 2 months ago after getting tired of using worms and only catching panfish that swallow the hook. I’ve had great luck with a popper until the temps went way up last week. Switched to trying both of these today. First cast with a sticko and pulled in a 1.5 lb bass. Only one I caught over two hours at the local,over-fished lake. Still a great experience! Thanks!

DEBO, the "flow" of your presentation is quite fast, but the content is "par excellence." You "reach" an abundance of anglers(thank you for that), many of whom are my close friends, whom I have exposed to your videos. We exchange info and opinions on your "lessons" and share our experiences. We live all over the SW and SC Midwest and compare notes. Your suggestions work. In trying to maintain simplicity, regarding the enjoyment of our mutual and "shared" enjoyment of bass-fishing, we seem to agree that we benefit quite a bit from your videos(we appreciate them) and we enjoy the topics you choose to teach. You have helped convert me, and others in my circle of friends, to Kastking equipment. Personally, I needn't waste my time seeking any other brand/style. Stay the course and keep reaching-out to those of us who, simply, enjoy the pursuit.

these stick bait can be costly but I only fish in the Spring, Summer and Fall so I stock up in the Winter. Have you ever heard of putting the hook point inside the waky tool and then pushing the O Ring off the tool so it captures the hook around the stick bait without having to penetrate the bait itself. They last much longer that way. You can do this with two O Rings as well as one.

for the weightless Texas style and its windy, I cast slightly in the direction of the wind and then let the wind take the line into the direction I want bait to be so it looks like a baitfish swimming. and usually allows me to sometimes catch just a few more but if it's howling I usually will side cast it to avoid some of that wind issue. but both usually are deadly if u know how to fish them both right.

Haven't lost a stick bait (yet). However, the bite has been almost non-existent for me (my friends get a big kick out of this), but still learning. I'm going wacky next time out on the yak. Hi! New to fishing, and loving your videos. Very informative! Would either of these require a sinker or no? I know you mentioned the salt sink! Thanks

If you go braid to fluoro leader for senko baits how long should your leader be?

Gary Yamamoto's do work incredibly well I will give them that but they are expensive if you do not live near a large box store (costing about $9 a bag here) I like them I really do but I have no trouble at all burning thru a bag in a single hour and I'm being 100% honest about it they simply do not hold up and I've torn my fair share of them simply casting them out 3-4 times. The action on them is basically second to none however and while many brands will work well they just don't produce (from my experience) compared to Yamatoto. With that said I fish them wacky rigged and have tried many brands I sometimes do well with other brands some times not, but I can no longer justify the price of Senkos and have turned to cheaper options. When it comes to baits that typically get torn up easy (like the Senko) I like to use Zman baits they last a long time but they float once the salt has disolved and nothing is more frustrating than casting out a bait for it literally float on the surface not even being able to sink. I started throwing them on weighted hooks to combat this (like a skirtless jig) and I've found the added weight really does a lot to help improve the action of them. This works well with other cheaper brands too, if you ever decided to try a cheaper option take the 30 seconds to throw a weight jig on your line (skirtless) and see for yourself the added weight really does improve the action considerable. I absolutely hate the look of it just aesthetically it looks poor in my opinion but it works please tho give it a try it might become your preferred method for wack rigged stick baits :) For what it's worth I've never really wacky rigged the center of the bait just because it's the center, I like to pinch the bait and move it up and down until the movement on both sides match and hook it their going for the center mass vs just center.

I think a clear tank showing the bait drop and action would help and add a fun element to the vids.

i wish yamamoto print would not wear off the bag so fast i forget which is which... have you tried shirk tubing on the senco
@DEBOSFishing5 жыл бұрын
Yeah, I burn through them fast enough that the bag doesn't stay around long. Between catching fish and snagging lures that is 🤣👊

I’m a. New angler and I like the stick bait Texas rig and wacky rig too but my main question is what is a good spinning reel combo or should I buy them separately
@DEBOSFishing5 жыл бұрын
Hmm well depends what you want? I can usually find better deals when I buy them separately.
