Cliff P I'm going to use your playlist to do more of these. The more I do, the more I think you'll start to see the connections between key, patterns and bass line. It'll make it much easier to memorize the lines...

OMG - That Fender Jazz is a killer. Stanky and Growly as only a 70's Fender jazz can sound.

I’m not using an amp. You need a Jazz bass to get the tone. Both pickups and tone wide open.

Shouldn't that be a Fender Precision ?

It works on any bass!

@@OnlineBassCourses of course it works on (almost) any bass, but this one here is a typical Precision, and that j-bass tone sounds kind of cheesy in comparison. There's a video by the man himself Freddie Washington with his 73er Fender Precision and his particular combination of 3 hammer-ons and 3 different stroking manners (stroke on the 1st, double stroke, and stroke on the 2nd) on that idiosyncratic F#G#F#G#F#G# lick, making it downright irresistible. Why should it be a j-bass instead of p-bass as soon as there's some slapping ? No no no no no, I say no 😎

@@paolozak3014 it can be whatever you want in my opinion! You're right on his original bass though - it sounds great. 👍🙏
