Great video as always dude, just a question which of these pedals do you think would be the best for a rage against the machine kind of overdrive?(for example in songs like tire me off evil empire) I have the sansamp bass driver like you do in this video but i always thought the overdrive was a little too harsh, but who knows maybe im just dialing it in wrong, any help? (only other "drive" pedal I have on my board is a EHX bass big muff which is a fuzz so yeah lol)

This video was awesome. All of these pedals sound great. It's gotta be the Wampler though. It's just so versatile.
@bflo10007 жыл бұрын
I agree 100%. It has the thickest low end, and sounds good at even higher gain settings.....It's also the most expensive (I believe along with the SA) and was designed for BASS. 3 of these pedals are for guitar.
@bernardbrennan16127 жыл бұрын
I’ve had all these pedals at on time. They all sound very different though different. I used the blues driver with an Xotic blender to blend back the bass and it worked really well.
@jduff596 жыл бұрын
For 30 bucks, the Joyo is a no-brainer, there may be some cooler OD pedals, but that little amount of cash goes a long way and it is hotter than a tamale.

Love the Wampler Low Blow and the Aguilar Agro, both give you a really dirty snarl without going buzzy or losing the low end. Boss is a classic but needs some care in handling. Most of the guitar pedals lose too much low end, the Green Rhino gave it the best go, but bass overdrive really is its own thing.

Thank you! My next comparison video will probably be checking out different pedals for Hysteria by Muse. Besides that I might revisit this overdrive shootout since this video is almost 5 years old. Overdrives are much more fun to collect than compressors haha
@jxorz6013 Жыл бұрын
Wampler wins for me. Great versatility, low noise, and paired well with the DI. Something I'm shocked by is how different some pedals sound, especially distortion and most preamp DIs, depending on location in the signal chain. I've got an Orange Bass Butler that sounds fine on it's own, but bad in my effects loop or behind other pedals, preamps or just EQ. Putting EQ behind it, though - works beautifully, and let's me dial in exactly what I want. All that being said, you never know exactly what a pedal will do for you until you test it thoroughly with your own setup.

Nice demo! Nice Penny Wise Bro Hym intro on the Wampler. So i'm looking for an overdrive pedal to compliment my Tech 21 VT pedal, I am using a Walrus Audio Voyager pedal that was my son's leftover pedal but it sucks the lowend out of my VT pedal so i've been doing some research and you have probably the best pedal demos all in one video. I really like that yellow Boss pedal most then the Wampler,Green Rhino, Tech 21, then the JOYO, I didn't care to much to the Agro. Thanks for taking the time to make this video I really appreciate it and especially playing the style you did, I play in a 90's era pop punk and emo style band with my son and younger brother and i've come to really like that grit that an overdrive pedal can get you.

@bflo10007 жыл бұрын
The SA is relatively low gain. It's an OD rather than distortion. Does a good job for what it's designed for. If your amp has a MV & gain (or drive, etc) knob, you can get distortion by combining gain w the pedal.........
