Just got one, tried it. Got an abu Garcia max4x for $55 instead. Way way smoother. Will be returning the bass pro tomorrow.

Don’t worry! It just didn’t suit my needs. Also maybe mine just had issues. I wouldn’t sweat it though. Get it dialed to how you like to cast and I’m sure it will be a great reel for you. Don’t know when your birthday was but happy late birthday!

I'm giving the diawa cc80 a try soon I've always been eh about Bass pro shops stuff never pulled the trigger on one kinda glad I haven't after watching your review!

I’m sure they make some quality reels. I’ve heard to pro qualifiers are not too bad. For more, store brand stuff is cheaper (usually) for a reason. A weekend, or ultra casual fisherman may not even notice some of the things that really bothered me, but we put in some hours so if it’s not working we’re going to see it in the most glaring way possible. Let me know on the CC80, please.

@@OkieOutdoorAdventures hey man checking back in to let you know I've been putting that diawa cc80 to work and I love it so far. Casts great, smooth as butter but my favorite part is the way it feels in hand plus it doesn't have that angle in the bottom side which digs into your hand cast after cast like they do in a Lew's reel. Idk it might make me look more into diawa reels and I've seen youo have a video on one already I'll be checking that out soon. But just touching base back with ya like youo asked man.

Any thing made china and most 90 precent is there days or cheap usa. Has gone to the Chinese Mexican and all other junk made places gd luck I got see reel works good no problem blue one

I do think improvements have been made. Others have purchased the reel and did not experience the issues I had.

I put it through the ringer to be honest. Let me be clear as well, it’s not TERRIBLE, I just had some issues with mine. That said, I don’t have any buyers remorse and think it’s a good reel overall.
