Nice rig. I like these smaller rigs that are built to make use of all spaces. Winter now and I'm watching boat/fishing videos, but can't wait for spring to arrive.

Jaime, you did some nice enhancements and they are, obviously, serving you well. I am surprised that you didn't go for the Ultrex or the Ulterra trolling motor. I actually won a jackpot at the casino and purchased the Ulterra 24 volt. I love the spot lock, the self deploy and self stow feature and especially the GPS following feature. I installed it along with a fishing buddy and it took use about 8 hours. Then we took it to the lake to set up. It looked like you bought a second gas tank. I would recommend measuring the space that they take up and get a professional tank. I did that with my pontoon boat that had an area for 2 6 gallon tanks. I ordered a professional one for about 100 bucks that fits in the same place and held 18 gallons and it had a fuel filler spout !. I paid 30 bucks for a gas gauge and wired it myself. I may have had a total of 150 bucks in all of it. Best money I ever spent on any boat that I have ever had. West marine and several more companies can match your dimensions. I promise it will save you so much trouble and may double the amount of usable gasoline that you can carry for longer runs. Love these videos and keep em comin' Ron

First, congratulations on winning the jackpot! One day I hope to do the same. After doing all the other enhancements oh, I really wanted an ultrex. But I already went above my original budget of a $300 fishfinder upgrade to the full setup that I have now. So the trolling motor was out of the question, that is until I had a little more encouragement and the maxim was just kind of like a $75 upgrade, so I did it. Supposedly in the next month or so, Garmin and a couple other companies are coming out with their own trolling motor so the competition is heating up. I will see what they're offering before I get to old tricks next year. Contemplate upgrading my gas tank. I just moved it to the other side of the boat this time, but it's the same tank. I've been thinking of doing the same as you. Adding a permanent, professional gas tank wood be a lot better. I would love to have a nice fill spot that I could access a little easier. I have a co-worker dad hit the jackpot randomly at the casino a couple years ago. I was in Vegas over the weekend and it didn't happen for me. LOL!

Great videos please continue posting more. What I would recommend is installing the VesselView Mobile and save having to take up more room on your console for the hour meter. It’s a simple install and has some pretty good diagnostic and motor management options.

@@jaimeastin thank you so much man! Do you off hand remember how much room was in between the back of the tray opening and the rear of the under storage? Hey Jaime, What is the part that you have that supports the Minn Kota? Looks like some type of Ram mount. I want to buy that same part. Did you have to buy some type of bracket for that as well?
@jaimeastin
@jaimeastin 5 жыл бұрын
Its a Minn Kota trolling motor stabilizer. Mine is the MKA-29. It is a little cumbersome to install, but works great. It is made to be universal, so you can custom fit it to your boat Deck. Perfect for Deep V boats. Love it. Like all your mods. Couldn't tell you the number of times where I was just gonna cross over a big cove and have a snack and just use the 24v trolling motor to shoot across knowing I got plenty of power and plenty of battery power by now using two instead of one. Into the wind, no big deal with that bigger trolling motor. Like that recess trolling motor mount too. I don't have one but I know that's the way to go. Being primarily one that just fishes along the banks, I don't need the electronics, but respect what they will do. You did an excellent job and I know you're gonna love your upgrades. Nice video!

I really like your idea for covering/concealing the wiring under the gunnel. Also the drain holes in the rear storage compartment are a must. Good job! Edit...@11:00 what did you call the battery connectors and where did you get them? And, instead of cutting a big hole in your dash and, considering the money you've already spent, why not just get the VesselView mobile module. It will give you much more information than just hours.

No, I don't have any regrets. I love how I can customize I am thinking about extending the deck for storage. I am happy for what I got and what I paid. My thing is, I still love kayak fishing more. Float tubes as well, but my back doesn't like float tubes and is kinda sorta ok with the kayak. I just had a guy on the boat and we both had a lot of gear and managed just fine. You are right, I put thousands in the boat, nothing that would have come on a more expensive boat. You should go get on one, and the others. I personally would be fine with a Jon boat, lol.

Hey Jamie, I just recently purchased my 2019 Bass Tracker classic and I'm upgrading to a Maxxum trolling motor as well. I'm really trying to figure out how you did it as I have no clue how I'm going to do mine. So far I've gotten one bolt, washer, and screw off the trolling motor and I need to take the other out and they are farther out. I've seen your thread that states you used a longer screw driver and a ratchet wrench. How would that work as the bolts are on the under side of the deck? What did you use to catch the bolt and washer? Lastly, did you have to drill any new holes?

I use duct tape on the underside of the wrench to catch the bolt. Ultimately the bolts and washers deadfall. Can I use a magnetic tool to get it. That was step one the next thing I did was I cut a larger hole directly in front of the little hole that you have already on the boat. I use a multi-tool in a cut a nice rectangular hole that can stick my hand in arm through. the very best thing I did which was last... I'm telling you now because it should be the very first thing you should do... Is cut the hole for the recessed trolling motor tray. That allows you to have the ultimate reach. Is very easy to do in you do not have any support beams or anything in the way.

I have already worked it harder than the other one. But I k ow I want spot lock.. but I want cable steer, so it is an ultrex. That's for watching.

Hey bru Question so are u a professional angler or are u going to become one. And why so much weight on the back of the boat you have room up front by the live well to build an extra storage and run a spot for a battery an add a rod locker
@jaimeastin
@jaimeastin 5 жыл бұрын
Hi- I'm not a professional angler and I do not have any big plans to be. I don't mind fishing tournaments. I might want to guide people one day. I didn't add any more weight to the back of my boat than when I got it. I have always had 3 batteries back there with a 3 bank charger. I am in the process of building an extended deck. Building mine out of mostly aluminum. I am not sure if I will.makw a rod locker or cover. If I do the locker, I will cut a larger hatch and all of that good stuff. Would not be hard. It's all about time, lol. Thanks for watching and for the questions.
