I’m gonna have to try some of those pulse jig heads. I’m thinking very seriously of making my own mold and get some materials for scroungers. Those things are ridiculously high when you find the ones you want. Used to have them at Walmart years ago for cheap. Not anymore
@BassGeek Жыл бұрын
The thing that sets them apart is they stand up no mater the speed. Most the round heads blow out.

Great video Hank! Really enjoyed it. My favorite summer baits are the glide bait and big topwater wakebait around docks and lay downs.

@@perkinscustomswimbaits agreed!! Love throwing a big rat this time of year ( especially at night ) Smallies hit them like they’re owed money !!
@perkinscustomswimbaits Жыл бұрын
@@Oldbasshole nice! I haven’t ever caught a smallie on a rat, I’ve mainly caught largemouth on the big wakes. These past two weekends I’ve had a hard time sitting the glide down. I had a 6.5 and a 4.32 lb largemouth.

I love throwing those paddle tail swimbaits around. I usually will use an underspin at first with them. It that doesn't work, I just use a plain dirty jigs jig head and that usually gets bit. Sometimes they want the underspin, and sometimes they don't. I have not thrown the big worms too much because I usually get bit on other things. I need to give those a try. Thanks for the great content Hank!!
@BassGeek Жыл бұрын

Strike King Caffine Shad is money for me, and I'm fishing from the bank. I forgot my EWG 4/0's, so I nose hooked them like a drop shot hook point buried on a 2/0 offset worm hook. The action is incredible. #100percentwatchsquad

#100percentwatchsquad Around here fishing has become a real drag...as in I'm dragging a worm or a jig because those are the only ways I can get bites. The water temp is over 90° and feels like bathwater. Air temps won't come down under 100 until October probably, lol. But I'll still be out there sweatin' and fishin'!

@@BassGeek what would you recommend for a beginner for like dock fishing the normal typical pound line
@BassGeek Жыл бұрын
It still really depends on what your cast to the docks. I don’t want to tell you to light. If Imm flipping it’s got to be heavy 20 minimum. If I’m casting to the out side or fishing down the edges it can be 12-17 l. I always air on the heavier side when fishing docks
