I love deep cranking Hank. I will check out those Cornerstone baits because I'm a crankbait junkie. Hank I have a bad elbow and shoulder has well. I bought a Megabass Launcher deep diving crank bait rod. I paired it with an 8:1 reel. My elbow doesn't get beat up as much with this setup.

On my river I haven't touched a crankbait this year since I tried a swim jig and paddle tail swimbait. Its pretty shallow where I fish so I use more squarebills when I do use them but the other methods have been tearing them up! I use all those for search baits and then I use shakey heads and wacky rigs for targeting laydowns and rocks more thoroughly. I know when the shad run the crankbaits work great though!
@BassGeek3 ай бұрын
That’s a lot of what I do In the deeper clear water I fish. Swimbaits “paddle tails” because they cover the water column top to bottom. And trig shaky for target fishing

My favorite color on most baits is white. I'm a basic fisherman. I also like a low geared reel for cranking. Always afraid of ripping the gears out of a high speed reel

What does DD, DT, and in this case, DP stand for when it comes to crankbaits. I believe DD is Deep Diving, but the other two, I'm not for sure. Love you videos and content
@BassGeek2 ай бұрын
Good question. You’re right on the first. DT is Dives To, and I think DP I THINK is DIVE Point.

Deep cranking wears me out. I put a 5.1 gear ratio reel and it still is tough. I just throw a drop shot down there and save my arm and shoulder the pain.

#100percentwatchsquad If I'm getting down to 12 foot, that's deep cranking on my lakes. Usually something like a 6XD is about all I need to scrape bottom. But even at those depths there's still vegetation everywhere so you have to be careful not to make a slop ball out of your bait on every cast.
@BassGeek3 ай бұрын
Hey deep is relative. Now with grass everywhere cranking is tough to do.
@jerrylanglois78922 ай бұрын
Thanks Hank but I do it entirely differently -- I troll them in a tiller handle outboard powered boat. The lure gets as deep as a want it, stays down and is a whole lot less work.
@BassGeek2 ай бұрын
Well yeah you can do that but it's not legal in tournaments. It works though.

Why? Reel fishing is with a stick and some line you made from some animal fur. I can play the time machine game all day. You ain't a man if you ain't taking dumps in an outhouse. If you take more than one bath a month you a woman. See how dumb it sounds....
