His charismatic and yet humble personality was a thing of beauty to witness live and he had me watching just him the entire show. Like you didn't want to look away for fear of missing something special happen at any moment. I can't listen to Change without crying. I've tried. I can't. This is maybe my favorite part of this INCREDIBLE performance just because I know what it’s like to work out new material on the fly and I know the magic it sometimes brings. So cool. As close as we got to a Blind Melon: MTV Unplugged, and probably better than it would’ve been had we gotten it since they were loose enough to try this and one or two others. Such an absurd line that means a helluva lot to me. "Soup" is a perfect album. Up there with Dark Side and Abbey Road.

Josh Ringler Definitely NOT absurd. Personal and deep, and symbolic. He's accepting that the person he's in love with is not a good fit for him, hence the shoe analogy. Shannon had an interesting method of creating lyrics, but absurd is not a word I would use to describe his method at all
