What I was trying to say, he's got this vibe like I hear a song I've never heard playing and I immediately go "I don't have the faintest clue what this is, but it's definitely Bassnectar". You can call it a sound signature I guess. And in that analogy, you can sign anything the same way. I don't know how he does it but to me his sound appears very consistent throughout the years.
