Hatchery stocked trout in my opinion are just fine to eat. I've caught and ate plenty of stockers. However I would say that I prefer eating smaller lean stockers. Great catch buddy. I prefer catching wild trout . Keep on fishing

I agree. Smaller ones taste better than 15” or larger ones. That’s why I tell people don’t just think “oh this 24” trout is going to be a tasty meal”. Because that’s not always true.

Love that pond! Didn’t know they stocked brookies in there? Sounds like a ton of fun to catch some of the Bruters. I mainly catch a ton of Tigers and Bows there. I can’t wait to film a video there myself.

They sure do taste good. My favorite. Ours are stocked fingerlings (interior BC) that grow for years in lakes until caught. So taste realy depends on availiable food and water depth to winter over.

Yup if they are stocked, and grow in the wild for a few years they taste good. My opinion is a wild trout ALWAYS tastes better.

Question: why do most of these big fish have no tails & no fins? … I mean they look deformed or like they’ve been in awful fights??! Do they come from the hatcheries this way?? I ate a tiger out of this place and I don't know if it's the water quality or it being freshly stocked but I wasn't impressed, was pretty nasty!
