Throw everything in the tackle box without throwing the whole tackle box in the water and telling the fish to pick out something they like then go to a worm. the best advice ever. When all else fails go to a worm.

I have a few different set ups, usually one or two with a search bait and then one or two with slow moving baits. I feel more confident in my spinners, minnows and crankbaits, but I feel like I know when to use a Texas rigged worm. And being a shore fisherlady I usually either have one side of the dock or the other. I'll pass a few out about 10 times to cover an area, and then switch to another pole, then switch to another and when that doesn't work, I'll go to another side. I agree with the confidence area at the end. If you got a bite in an area, there's usually going to be fish there, so try it again!

I really like these videos where you interview the pros. Chris Zaldain always says "good question"... I don't ever watch one of these videos where I don't learn something! Great question, one of those question that you ask yourself after every tournament. Brandon did a great job explaining when he makes changes. Small weather changes, changing baits, colors or presentation. Big weather changes may require moving completely. Jason's watch is interesting too. Having it timed and just asking yourself the question to stay or go. I plan on using this strategy in the future. I truly believe that it would help me out.

If the fish ain't biting I will throw on a swim bait hook and fish different colored soft swim baits, craws and sometimes worms on it until I find a color that they like. Then I may switch to a same or similar colored jig with the same soft bait on it to give a bigger presentation. I also switch up my retrieve style until I find one that they hit on.

I have a bout 5 rods and have a few completely different tactics. Crankbait or spinner on one, shaky head or senko, jig or texas rig, topwater, and ned or drop shot. I do the research for colors and depths prior and put on the things I have confidence in. I rotate through those rods in different areas, and i'll stick with it because I have confidence in these setups. Whenever I start tying on new baits, it seems like I cannot stop. I would like a few more rods because I hate tying on new stuff.

@kennethvandyken73377 жыл бұрын
I like what Chris and Gerald said. I vary my technique with the lure I have tied on, and rely on my experience. but I totally get the confidence thing too, like Gerald said. If I feel a lack of confidence I put it down. however, when fishing new baits, I give it an extra chance because I need to find out how and when fish strike.

Mostly just the underlying theme of giving a spot at least 20 minutes before moving to a another location. Sometimes it's hard to leave a spot you know has produced in the past.
@michaelklappauf74087 жыл бұрын
Great video. I always use my past history at the particular spot. If I've caught a bass at the spot before, I'll use the same lure/presentation and couple of other confidence presentations and move on. If it's a new lake, I'll try a few casts with lures/presentations that relate to the structure and move on after several attempts with each. I try not to spend more than 5-10 minutes at most at a spot that's not producing.

Sometimes I get to eager to change lures. But most of the time I start of power fishing and move to finesse as I see fit. Typically I'll change lure once I figure out what they want. Yeah it sounds backwards but I know that they are active and I can try to bring my confidence up on something new to diversify my arsenal.

This video was great and had some great advice. I'm a beginner angler I'm not totally new I know how to hook set and use what kind of baits in what kind of ponds I'm pretty good in my opinion but I could get better and I want to experience with more baits. But I just like to throw something out and see how they like it and see what's working best. I like to look at the fish and see what they do and how their lips are to tell if they have been eating. But I like to change it up and practice. But I usually change my bait or pond when nothing is happening at all for a while on all my baits. But loved the video

Some of the advice counters my intuition. I thought, if I work an area with the wrong bait, that makes the bass wary and reluctant to bite the right bait, so I should change BOTH location and bait. Is the bass memory short enough that I can change baits and keep working the same spot?

Brandon Palaniuk really broke it down clearly but then if you take what Gman said and add that to the end of what Brandon said you have the perfect answer.
