Sounds like each of the pro's have a confidence bait. They stick to it due to their past experiences. Love to have the experience that KVD has. His answer was spot on for him. That is what sets him apart from others.

If there is a lot of cover Texas rigged, a little cover =wacky rigged with a weed guarded hook, no cover=wacky rigged on an open hook. I prefer to use wacky rig WHENEVER I can get away with it! Good luck!

Hi Glenn, A "Go to Bait" , amazing that everyone has a different one to use in a pinch. They are either biting or they are not. We just physic our selves into a frenzy and panic if we don't get bit. Even watching all the tournaments almost every Pro is fishing a different bait. It boggles the mind and my feeble little brain. Happy Fishing.

It all boils down to in which lures the angler has the most confidence. Always hard to beat a jig, soft plastic or crankbait. My go to is a floating worm. It can be presented with so many techniques, which makes it hard to beat.

This is a good helpful video, I didn't know what to use the other day when I was struggling to catch these finicky bass on beds. Best bait to go to is just a plain senko. Easily best bait out there. When in trouble use a wacky or Texas rig, also weightless gives it a better action. Also on windy and cloudy days I like to use baits with a little more flash, like a spinnerbait or chatterbait. Overall great video helped a lot.

Pumpkin Green jig with a Berkley Powerbait Crazy Legs Chigger Craw in Pumpkin Green has been my bait of choice for quite a few years. It's so versatile and can be fished in many ways. Lately though I have been using the Berkley powerbait Ribbed Shad. I fish it on a Mustad swimbait hook, on a jig and lately I have been doing real good with it on a white Chatter Bait.

When nothing works, my first choice is a frog colored flat fish. I use an UL 8' rod with 6# nanofil line in order to cast the 1/16 oz crank. Twitch it across the surface and pull it under and let it come back up for more twitching just in front of grass or pads. Its small but it wakes them up!
