It's so interesting how people use different set ups. My go to chatter rod is a 7'3" MH fast, 6 spd reel with 15 lbs izorline copolymer. I've tried everything you can think of and this is my go to set up. I've lost a lot of fish on soft rods with chatters.

Seth Feider does the BEST instructional videos. Somebody needs to pay him to do a bunch. With ALL bassin’ techniques. Great video. Just bought a Dobyns glass rod for chatterbait. Thinking about a Tatula 150 with 7.1:1 reel.

I just bought one of these rods along with a 7'2" composite cranking rod by Tatula. Really looking forward to using both of them very soon!

Great video. I’m usually throwing a chatter 90% of the time followed by a plopper and lipless as far as reaction baits. Been searching for the perfect rod to focus towards what I’m throwing most and fit my budget. Haven’t had a Daiwa rod in a while so I landed on the Tatula glass bladed jig rod. Going to pair it with a 7:1 Tatula 100🤘🏻

Awesome stuff! 🔥🦙 Glass rod is definitely key. I’m running a Steez A on an Evergreen Combat Stick Jackhammer rod which is very similar to the Tatula Seth is using. I’ve actually been running 30lb braid to 20lb leader (both sufix) for the past year and a half. Stealth and durability from the fluoro, strength and distance with the braid. I’ve flipped big fish with confidence and even broken the branches I’ve snagged on 😂 Definitely gonna throw one of my SV reels on there and see what’s up!

I’ve been messing around with different combos and throw chatterbaits more than anything else. I really think I want one of those rods. I think the heavy rod with mod action sounds about perfect. I have a 6.3 reel and a few in the 7’s, I kind of also tend to agree the 7 ish ones are the sweet spot for chatterbaits.

Alot of guys focus too much on what type of line. I focus more on the rod action. I fish braid with everything paired up with the correct fluorocarbon leader. The sensitivity braid offers is unmatched. My go to for chatterbait is medium heavy fast action. 30lb braid to a mostly 15lb floracarbon leader. No issues with it
@FishermanFred20235 ай бұрын
@@jheiny1231 cool. I’ve recently started to work with leaders. I find then most beneficial (so far at least) for wacky rigging. I like a fluorocarbon leader on braided line. I can detect the bites so much better due to the braid. But still get the sinking action and invisibility of the fluorocarbon under water. For my chatterbaits I like 17 or 20lb straight fluorocarbon. Haven’t tried them with a leader yet.
@jheiny12315 ай бұрын
@FishermanFred2023 it's hard for me to detect some bites with all floracarbon . With the braid main line I can detect everything.

I have a Favorite 7’4 heavy emperor moderate fast action and trying to decide what dc curado to pair it with for spinnerbaits and chatterbaits the options are 6.2.1 and 7.4.1
@bassutopia3 жыл бұрын
Tough choice. Both are great options. If you really want to fish both of those slow more often then go with the 6.2. Otherwise a 7.4 will make it easier to fish faster and also allow you to pick up slack line quicker of they are really crushing it.

Could I use this same rod on a deep diving crank bait or a flutter spoon or even a soft plastic swimbait? Really wanting to get this rod in the 7’4 heavy glass regular action for these 3 techniques. If it could do them please let me know ASAP sir!
@bassutopia2 жыл бұрын
This is an excellent rod for a chatterbait and deeper running crankbaits, but would not be our first choice for swimbaits or large flutter spoons. With this being a fiberglass rod, it has a parabolic bend that loads deep into the blank. For techniques like a swimbait and flutter spoon you would have a more enjoyable time on the water with a slightly crisper graphite rod.

I'm interested in getting a 7'3" mh moderate fast rod for chatterbait paired with a 7.0:1 quantum vapor. Do you think that will work?

Hi There. The MH will have enough backbone to get a nice hookset. It should work well!

Do you think a 1/2 ounce chatterbait will overpower the 7’2 medium reaction googan rod I want a rod that can do both chatter and crank baits
@bassutopia3 жыл бұрын
Hi Brady! You are going to have trouble with the hook sets on a medium rod. Something with a little more backbone like a MH or H would work best. It also might be difficult to rip the chatterbait out of cover like grass or pads if it gets hung up.

What rod should I get to use a spinning reel?
@bassutopia Жыл бұрын
Most rod manufacturers make both casting and spinning models. When picking out your rod, just make sure that the title indicates that it is a spinning rod. You can also identify a spinning rod by looking at the guides. A spinning rods first 2 to 4 guides are much larger than ones you'll see on a casting rod.
@FADE1208 Жыл бұрын
@@bassutopia I’d like to purchase a spinning rod from you that is dedicated for throwing Chatterbaits. What would you recommend?

Anyone feel a 7.5 reel is too fast? Do you need to turn the handle painfully slow to match a 6.1 speed? I always have trouble compensating when I want to reel it slower.
@bassutopia3 жыл бұрын
Depending on the depth and amount of cover or vegetation, a faster reel will often be beneficial. The amount you need to slow down to match a 6.1 is not as drastic as you'd think!
