Yea, it is really good, I just really hope they stay far away from Hope and the Phoenix bs. It’s old like bringing back Palpatine every time. Avengers vs xmen could have been so much better without Phoenix, and messiah stories are dumb. Just the idea of something being set in stone beyond your control is dumb, makes every character seem weak.
@ToploadedGaming8 ай бұрын
Just to expand on the messiah stuff. It’s like how the first Matrix was amazing, a nearly perfect movie, not even really needing a sequel, and Reloaded was okay, but more of the man this looks cool movie, and Revolutions was absolute dog snot. We can leave the Jesus stories to people that go to church and the like.

9:00 This analysis is actually explaining how Doug is able to hold out long enough to fight back from within Master Mold. Long story short, Master Mold sees that Doug's body, as a biological system, is INCREDIBLY stable. His brainwaves don't have peaks and valleys, they're constant. Alpha-methyl para-tyrosine, which exists naturally in humans but at very low levels, is present in his body at a much higher concentration, and it's regulating his blood pressure in this high stress situation. What that means is Doug's body is so good at protecting itself, Master Mold literally can't absorb Doug fast enough to stop Doug from learning Master Mold's programming language and using it against him.

Nimrod in ancient greek was a great hunter! In bugs bunny bugs allways called elmer fudd "poor little nimrod" as elmer fudd tried to be the great hunter! Thus in popular culture post 1940 "Nimrod" went from meaning "great hunter" to meaning "Idiot" or "Jerk". I grew up with bugs and will never get used to Marvel using the name Nimrod as it's supposed to mean as a resourceful hunter!

Man, this was a cool one. This was a cool issue. Love so much about. This is why I sub to Rob's stuff. Never gonna be a comic reader, but love his summaries. I did expect and there was some deus ex machina thrown in, which I'm not a fan of, because the heroes need to win. I wish they won by out-strategizing the enemy (or, if that wasn't possible, I would be all for a story in which they simply lost). To see this resolved with the use of deus ex machina is like watching two people play chess, where it's a very intense and suspenseful game (as chess games go), but, just before one opponent can make the move that checkmates the other, the rules of the game suddenly change and the losing opponent is allowed to snatch the other's king and declare himself the victor for the simple fact that he's the more favored party in the competition. I don't suppose fans of chess would find that satisfying. I don't find its equivalent in this comic satisfying. But everything leading up to the magical codetalker talking the machines into exploding (why hasn't he been used to talk everyone out of or into anything and everything that serves the purposes of the X-Men?) and mutant Jesus was a gas.

I'm not even going to lie as a Phoenix and Jean Grey fan. They did Hope Summers and Cable story justice. It was so impactful (in Disney fashion) to have the parent teach the child how to not be afraid of letting go. The story can go anyway but for me it was Cable's love for his family to sacrifice himself that allowed Hope to channel the Phoenix force with such impressive power. Normally it's attracted to strong psychic energy but this hit different. This is in rewind. Great story telling thank you Rob!

AVX is the next event after this within the same timeline. this is the start of hope having the phoenix force, and that tying into the rebirth of mutant population with the 5 new mutants popping up. within the ending of AVX, that is where mutant population returns as a whole.

What I appreciate about this alternative Days of Future Past future is that Marvel bothered to draw it as still being an obviously terrifyingly miserable period for all of Earth’s populace instead of just for Mutants. It doesn’t really dilute one of Days of Future’s Past’s possible points, that the hate is not worth it and will damn us all without tolerance and eventual acceptance. Hate destroys.
