Out of all the KZbinrs, your board review credibility resonates with me the most due to your love for tree riding. I live for pow tree riding so if you say a board rocks it in the trees I know it's been truly thoroughly tested by yourself. Having the Bataleon One, Surfer, Camel Two, and the Party Wave Plus I can very much so agree that Bataleon is my favorite type of board company to ride in the trees. After that would be my Coda Rocker. Anyways, thanks for the great review and keep on pumping them out dude! P.S I selling most of my bindings and swapping out to Now bindings. Been rocking the Recons this season and everyday I'm not on them is a little less complete.

how do you like the party wave +? just ordered the 23 for this season.
@thedude55102 жыл бұрын
@@himboslice_ The Party Wave Plus is just a little too wide. Slow edge to edge, sucks in any type of technical terrain, and turns pow riding into a slight chore because it's just so damn wide. Holds an edge pretty well, cool it's short for rotations but it sucks at high speeds. Especially if you're trying to carve at high speeds. Only way to save the shit experience on the P.W.P is if you have a size 12-15 size boot. Then it won't feel so clunky.

I'm a year later but any tips on my next board? I was planning to grab the Arbor Coda Rocker (been riding an Element rocker for the past few seasons) but am now considering the Bataleon Goliath. Riding Whistler this season with a couple other trips to similar big mountains.

I picked up the beyond medals version. Man, i love the 3d design. So fun and forgiving!.
@caspiankai50702 жыл бұрын
Great shred footage! Sweet slowmo. The Magic Carpet I have definitely floats incredible especially for a true twin. 3BT is unique. Just not the greatest on icy days but the MC has the most extreme 'pow 3bt' and shorter sidecut and effective edge. Super nimble and surfy tho!

I have the MC too and love it. Taken it on 2 trips to Niseko, Japan.

How does it ride on groomers and is there a 'learning curve' for the 3BT? Kinda worried about that.

Heya Andreas so im a 10.5 us boot as well and i csn decide ...i weigh about 195lbs with my gear on and i cant decide between a 158w and a 159 ... i was thinking a 159 as it might be a bit easier to depress those edges ? Your thoughts ?

All around best review of this board, but I'd say any board. Thorough, straightforward, and totally personable. Great job, man. I've been doing a deep search for a camber dominant board. This may be it!

Awesome review!! Question: how is this riding flat base? Does the depressed camber keep you straight or do yoy feel any of the triple base tech that makes you rock onto one edge? I also wonder about nose or tail presses if I wanted to hold a tail press for a while.. I wonder if the tail would be more squirrly due tue the tbt. Thanks!
@ReinLable Жыл бұрын
Might be, but it depends on your skills abit.. I got the 19/20 Evil Twin and gonna get Goliath as a bonus for this season. Those lifted edges are on the tail and nose but the board has a flat mid section throughout. Basic idea with the 3D is not to catch an edge. It is slightly different feel running on flat prep sloaps, but in a good way. And it sure takes few runs to get used to it. Great float on pow, as he describes it. When pressing, well, you have to be slightly more precise, so you can't be as "sloppy" as on a regular and get away with it. But hey, learning new stuff and technique is fun and makes u feel alive again 😁

I am looking for a playfull daily driver with 3d base. I am inbetween the Jones Mountain Twin and the Goliath. How is the ice handling, would I miss the TractionTech? Any recommandations? Thx in advance M
@thedude55102 жыл бұрын
Go with the Camel Toe, Camel Two, or Party Wave. They have the low uplift on the tail that handles better on firm snow. It really depends on how much ice/firm snow you're riding. If you ride a lot of firm snow the Goliath is not the one for you.
@EmPi462 жыл бұрын
@@thedude5510 thx I own a Gnu Gremlin and a Jones Mind Expander. I want to complete my quiver with a playful board. I am an older rider and like to „surf“ more and maybe start to learn how to jump and ride switch. The Camel Two or the Thunder were also in my scope but maybe to much overlapping with the Gremlin? 🤔
@thedude55102 жыл бұрын
@@EmPi46 if you want a more playful board you shouldn't be very worried about firm/ice performance. Those types of boards typically do not handle well in those kinds of conditions. If you want switch capabilities go with the Thunder, Goliath, Whatever, or the Magic Carpet. Just remember that none of those boards will handle firm/ice very well. I've tried a lot of boards and the only one I can think of that sounds like something you might like is the Arbor Coda Rocker or Arbor Iguchi Pro Rocker. Slightly better firm/ice performance, still very playful, and is a directional twin shape for switch. Get it in a big enough size and it will shred pow with ease, as well as be a tree monster. The Camel Two sidecut is not the best for switch nor is its shape. It can do it but not the best.
@EmPi462 жыл бұрын
@@thedude5510 thx Thats why I currently prefer the Jones Mountain Twin due to the additional Traction Tech. But I will keep an eye on the Goliath and Whatever, maybe I can find a good deal here in Germanyw

I’m in exactly the same boat, about to get a new board and torn between the jones MT and the Goliath for exactly the same reasons. Love the 3bt but heard it’s rubbish on ice, how forgiving is the MT and how bad is the Goliath on ice ? What board did you get in the end and were you happy with it ?
