This video is probably my favorite ever, it was instructive and hilariously cute all in one. Lola was so fuzzy when she started to dry and it was the cutest ever. They all are absolutely gorgeous piggies.

I washed mine outside in the summer I used to have three and watching this I used to have a long haired much like two of your ones and I used to go gentle with her she used to sprawl her legs out eventually and got used to having baths in the summer I only ever washed them when it was summer but they had plenty of grooms. Which I read is a great way to spend time with your guinea pig and its a good way to get them used to their owner. I always towel dried them after and gave them a brush

I asked my vet (exotics vet) about bathing and he said only if absolutely needed (like if they had fleas or got extremely dirty) otherwise a non-scented baby wipe would be enough. I love how gentle you are with the bathing and that you emphasized that they shouldn't be bathed too much.

Great advice :) Bathing often isn't necessary for short haired breeds, I find it useful especially for Annie's long hair, even though she doesn't like the experience she always seems much happier after a bath and a trim! :)

Yes they can if they get cold and wet at the same time, I had heated up my bathroom to keep them warm so they were fine :) I also dried them with towels and left them in the warm room until they were almost completely dry and ready to go back to their cage :)

Thank you for this loving and lovely video. I am using a hair dryer with a large diffuser, resting on its side on the ground on lukewarm / middle heat - and use my hands abundantly through my guinea pigs' hair, so I can feel the temperature. It has to be slightly warmer than skin temperature, as we know for ourselves: it can quickly feel cold even at around-skin temperature when we are wet. Anyway, your hands will guide you for maximum comfort for your little One :) But it's worth making sure that they are totally dry quickly after the bath. This, as much from my own intuition as on my vet's recommendation.

One of my piggies Suzie loves a bath, she would actually sit there all day if she could :) I use gorgeous guineas posh & go on her as she has long hair. Ive recently rescued 2 other girls. Maisie is smooth coated & is still nervous so Im not bathing her yet as she looks clean. Our other newbie Daisy had a lot of problems when we got her, but thankfully now has fully recovered. Just has dry patches of skin left from the mites so I have ordered gorgeous guineas manuka & neem shampoo & coconeem melt. Going to bath her today, so hope she likes it. Hi! I don't really notice the smell if there is one so I don't use anything like that. I think an air purifier of some sort is meant to be a good option though! You can also try to litter train them so they don't pee as much on the fleece which can become smelly quickly - litter trays with newspaper and hay in work well once they have got used to them and it might cut down how often you have to change the fleece too :)

Hello, I bought it from amazon a few years back, it cost £9 and I think it was called hamster playpen, I remember it got bad reviews because hamsters can climb out of it but it works well for guinea pigs :)

Thank you so much for this video its great advice I'm going to try giving my male piggy a bath when I get back home because he made quite a mess on his belly and lower end yesterday when I was not home at his regular veggie time. he was upset and decided to pee all over everything and poo leving him and his cage a mess lol. He gets like that when im not home when hes use to me being there at a certain time. Just save up money and give many positives. Guinea pigs are super hard to take care of correctly. I have two rescued abbysinians named Opal and Lola. They have their own room, and their cage in 3 feet by 5 feet. It also has an upstairs😜

My piggie hates baths but I usually get a helper to ply her with vegetables and she stops minding so much. So if you can have someone to give them lettuce or something (making sure not to get any shampoo on it of course) they might not struggle as much.
