Your DIY shelf brackets for tiled walls were truly inspired! How are they holding up after 6 months? Any "accidents"?
@aandtj11194 жыл бұрын
Thank you! Although, yes, one of the shelves was too heavy and ended up falling a few months in. I fixed the issue by using silicone caulk to attach the brackets to the tile wall (so it'll still be easy to remove if I want to change them in the future).

Thanks for the question and answer ladies! 🙏

@@aandtj1119 I did originally think that the doubled shelves might be too heavy. Good to know there was an easy fix. Will have to give this a try!
@delmarquintessa Жыл бұрын
@@aandtj1119 this is the best hack i've seen in a few years. i also needed shelving immediately and had the same tile drilling dilemma as you. fortunately, these are still in stock and available for delivery. thank you SO much for sharing. I was quck to check for updates so I will make sure to grab silicone caulk as well! Whenever you do take them down, I'd love to see the process as well. xx

Where did you buy the 2 stick on black mound pieces for the lack shelf to be placed on?
This is soo inspired! Can i ask though, wont the wood pvc panels get warped bec of the humidity of the toilet?
@aandtj11193 жыл бұрын
Nope, the "wood" pvc doesn't warp at all because it's all plastic :)

I used a brand that I found here in Thailand, but I know Rustoleum is a popular brand in the US: www.amazon.com/dp/B0787D4CMM/ref=cm_sw_r_cp_awdb_imm_t1_jqNTFbEADE1JV

Hello, did you add additional glue to the holders?
@aandtj11194 жыл бұрын
It depends on how much weight you're putting on the shelves. If your items are light, you can get away with just using the suction cups. But if your items are heavier, you could try a glue.
@agapeterry49894 жыл бұрын
Will the suction work on an actual wall or just tile ?
@aandtj11194 жыл бұрын
I think it will only work on really smooth surfaces like tile or glass.

Nice job I wanted to move to Thailand very badly for a long time it was just so confusing originally it was going to be Cambodia but then I thought that if I move just west of siem reap I would be close enough to my interests in Cambodia such as the temples Etc. I wanted to buy a house. Or have one built I don't have a lot of money but it seemed really cheap from the conversations I had with some people I know that lived there now. What advice would you give to someone that wanted to move there I don't have a lot of money I'm on disability I believe I'd have to travel back to the United States every 6 months but I guess I could do that I would have roughly $10,000 for a down payment on a house any help that you could give me would be so much appreciated

These are interesting temporary hacks. Creative, to be sure. But I wouldn't do such a rental unit project to my home unless I'm so broke and it's in such terrible condition that it just has to be done. If I own it, I'm doing quality finishes. Like what was there before; which was polished and very subtle it was easy to blend with understated colors. Maybe taking an interior design class on colors and good guidance from a professional realtor on what finishes increase value and what diminishes the value of your home would help guide you in future projects. No hate. Just very puzzled.
