i just bought steves online course. super cheap and soooo worth it. online support, and explanation from beginning to end.... i am a super DIYer and i love to do stuff for myself. I feel that when i spend money to hire someone else, itll be a half assed job using crap material. i like the best for myself and my family so i rather learn to do it myself. learn and better myself , and get better results in the end..... Also, i get to keep the tools and materials i saved in money i woudof otherwise spent on labor. Win / win situation. steve has been super helpful with fast replies, and i literally had no questions while going through his online step by step course so far. its like your right next to him while hes renovating a bathroom.... full details , tricks, and alllll. its addicting and fun!!! i work full time and dont have alot of time, so i go at my own slower pace... these videos contain helpful tips and tricks and so far has answered 95% of my questions without even asking them. I am not paid , nor do i know steve in real life. I enjoyedhis content so far, i I just wanted to give my honest opinion to help out his platform, because he deserves it... . DAVID :D

NW PA here, 3 years on my own. Last year or so many people have called me and said they can’t get people to come out for even just the estimate. Last year I actually had one of my best years so far lol. I too am already adjusting my prices for the inflation.

What has been your experience in using Hardie backer board for tub surround? They are light weight and inexpensive and seem to be popular in the industry.

Hardi backer…..I personally do not like it at all. Super dusty to cut, it wicks the moisture out of everything, which causes tile bonding issues. It’s also not waterproof, so you need to apply something for that. I think go board is the most affordable option out there…next would be a standard Schluter membrane

Hey I had a question: Would a 1/8" difference between Kerdi pan and bathroom floor be a significant issue? Kerdi pan is at 2" and the rest of the room is 2 1/8". The plan was to put Ditra heat through out the bathroom and shower. I'm an electrician by trade... so the make up in height difference in tile work is Greek to me. I'm Probably over thinking it.....💥

I’m assuming your doing a curbless shower. If so this is how I address that (this video I had heat in shower, but same concept with a higher pan situation) you don’t want the outside floor area to be lower for possible capillary water draw out of a curbless shower kzbin.info/www/bejne/r6bEhKebo5l1itU

@@BathroomRemodelingTeacher Yes, curbless shower. The surround bathroom area will be 1/8 in taller then shower area. Is it safe to say thos should not be an issue.
