Homelander would lose to Superman because he's a big fish in a VERY small pond. He's never gone toe to toe against anyone else who is able to fight him. Look at what happened to him against Billy and solider boy. Granted Billy was taking temp V./V24, but he was experienced in cqc, and combined with V24& solider boy, he didn't stand a chance. The one contingency you're not accounting for is anyone else showing up. This plan to neutralize Homelander is based on him being alone, which cannot be guaranteed. Oh, and while Superman totally outclasses Homelander by every measure of power, I think what would wind up happening is that Supes would just stand there and give Homey a well-deserved lecture on the responsibility of using his powers responsibly while Homey beat himself into exhaustion trying to hurt Supes. In essence, Superman would allow Homelander to defeat himself by showing him through complete inaction on his part how weak Homelander truly is.

Superman could beat Omniman and Homelander at the same time no issue. Omniman could easily best Homelander. And while Viltrumites are naturally stronger than Kryptonians. Under a yellow sun, Superman could feasibly defeat the entire Viltrumite race. Only their numbers would be an issue. Not their power levels. I love the Viltrumites but unless they utilize Supermans' weaknesses, they will use.
