I still prefer my DCUC collection over to the stuff Mcfarlane is churning out. I can't place it exactly but there's just something off with the proportion of their figures.

I wish Mattel would've progressed when they had the line. Because DCUC was great in it's time (2008-2014). But Mattel kept making figures dated throughout the 2010's, up until December 2019 with their last line (which did have an awesome Alfred and Killer Croc im that wave). Ever since January 1, 2020, I've been upset with just about EVERYTHING McFarlane has done with the DC line. I honestly don't like his DC figures. He can do whatever he wants with Spawn because he created that and I honestly don't care about Spawn. But I draw the line on DC. At this point, I truly believe the DC action figure license would have a better home over at Hasbro. It'd be nice to get some comic DC action figures to compete with Marvel Legends in today's day and age. But I doubt DC will have any good figures for a very long time (many years from now). 😔

That's my perspective on DCUC vs Toybiz too. Unfortunately for me from where I live and the combination of lack of money at the time, I wasn't able to afford DCUC. Now with online second hand market, it's expensive. Just bought the Knigh Fall Batman by McFarlane and love it. My only gripe was the scale. No playability against Modern Marvel Legends.
@5POAFigureReviews Жыл бұрын
Heck, DC Multiverse figures often don't even scale with one another half the time! But you're right, those old DCUC figures may have had issues, but they were something special.

As a Marvel Legends collector who thinks on starting on some DC figures I’d rather buy the old Mattel Dc figs than any of the McFarlane figs except if it’s a large character like Snyder Darkseid, Snyder SteppenWolf, Clayface, Arkham Bane etc.
@5POAFigureReviews4 ай бұрын
I totally get it. They scale better with Legends, are closer to their classic comic book looks, and have a broader variety of characters.

Cool, interesting interest. How come you love the POA from say the early 2000's action figures, more than the Hot Toys and similar more high detail action figures? What year was this Mattel Batman released? God bless.
@5POAFigureReviews Жыл бұрын
Series 1 of DCUC (including Batman) was 2008. As far as articulation, I much prefer the higher end poseability and range of modern toy lines, but I have a lot of respect for the balance between sculpt and articulation the Four Horsemen managed to strike back then. All these years later they hold up better than some of their contemporaries (early Hasbro Legends for instance). As far as Hot Toys, that's a fantastic question! I admire them, but I think there are a few reasons I never got into them. Mainly how childhood collecting habits informed how I collect now: smaller, lots of characters in a line to choose from, mostly if not all plastic, and within a certain range of affordability. $20-$25 here and a there for a variety of figures makes my brain happier than the idea of one large very expensive figure every few months. But again, mad respect for them. Thanks for the comment and questions. I hope you have a blessed week.

@@5POAFigureReviews Thanks btw, this may be a break for something that's also very poseable and very customizable, the most accessories of all toydome/figuredom maybe: there is very hidden gem, japanese toy maker (founder doesn't need sales, he's already an heir, it's purely his hobby and love of kind of action figures with cool articulation. They only make their own characters which has the cutest faces of in all toydom/figuredom) who makes the most realistic clothes of all the tier-S toy makers in the world, the shoes are the most real (real leather make w/ real show process): Smart Doll (I think by now they already made their robot too).

Hey man! Really like your content, I’m looking to get the 2019 dc Mattel multiverse dick Grayson Batman unmasked head and put it on the all black or black and grey dc classics batman, will it fit, or even be able to swap? Thank you!
@5POAFigureReviews8 ай бұрын
I don't have the Dick Grayson Batman, but since it has a swappable head I suspect it will be like their Alfred. If that be the case, the peg hole on Dick will be too big for the peg on Batman. If that is the case, you can always put a pinch of blue tack in there to make it work. Hope that helps!

Yeah, I'll admit when it comes to ToyBiz Marvel Legends that the bigger characters like Hulk, Thor, and Thing look fine. But man if they had a skinny character like Silver Surfer, Mr. Fantastic, or even Spider-Man. Those massive should and hips hinges just stick out like a sore thumb.
