@@quiver5756 Batman Forever and Batman & Robin should be in two separate alternate universes not canon with each other. It's better that way so that there are three different Batman alternate universes...one with Keaton's Batman, one with Kilmer's Batman and one with Clooney's Batman.

One of the BEST ENDINGS IN MOVIE HISTORY. PERIOD! Right up there with "starchild" ending of 2001 . Up there with "theres no place like home" from The Wizard of Oz. Up there with Superman flying in space. Up there when Luke sees Anakin, Yoda & Kenobi's sprits (the original version). Tim Burton well done!

It´s amazing! You just put my favorite part of the movie! When Gordin says: "He gave us a signal"" And then when Batman stares at the sky, the signal appears and bells ring... so great! We think alike =)

I'm a major admirer of the new soon-to-be trilogy by Christopher Nolan, loved the new tone he brought to the character and everything. And yet, the movies by Tim Burton still retain their power, because he was honest about the touches imprinted in his directing of them. That's why it's so moot to compare between the two versions in terms of quality, because they take such wildly different approaches. They both got it so right. One cannot and will not diminish the other.

I have to be honest. Seenig this as a kid & growing up with it clearly made this the best batman movie ever. However, I gotta hand it to Nolan, Ledger & Bale for doing such an epic job at making Batman a much more respected & epic character in the "super heros" category. This may be the best batman movie of all time, but The Dark Knight was just pure gold. TDK was movie making at it's best. Not to mention, both movies had a grand collection of music that made each of them that much better.

its pointless to argue which version is better than the other because they BOTH have pros and cons. I for one salute Burton because he had Adam West's flop (and whomever directed that) to make up for, and he did it quite well. Nolan had the B&R flop to make up for, and he did well too. Give Burton SOME credit people, givin the time period, I don't think any other director/producer would have the guts, or creativity, to have pulled it off. Put down the hostilities and just enjoy the movies.

No doubt, this is a great ending. Every time that score comes on, I get goosebumps. The first one is easily my favorite out of the original movies. Then when I saw Batman Begins, it brought a sense of realism to the Batman story. And just like the first movie, Batman Begins' ending gave me the same chills. "I never said thank you." "And you never have to." If only they could've combined the score from "Batman" to the dialogue with "Batman Begins." Now that would be epic.

I absolutely agree. I'm so sick of hearing people bash this Batman because The Dark Knight was great, or bash Jack Nicholson's performance because of Heath Ledger. Both movies and actors were terrific. I don't know why people just say "Oh the old stuff sucks." I loved this movie ever since I was 5 and always will.
