Batman (NES) - Underground Conduit / Stage 3 Theme (All Instrument Cover)

Here's another video of a top notch Sunsoft NES game song, a cover of Underground Conduit, otherwise known as the Stage 3 theme from Batman! Sunsoft games on the NES really had a pretty incredible streak of great music on games, largely composed by Naoki Kodaka. The entire Batman soundtrack is fantastic, as this example from the third stage displays, containing an intro, a chorus type hook, a bridge, and an outro.
For arranging the song, for no particular reason than I thought it sounded cool, I opted to play a Chicago shuffle on the drums for the intro, but otherwise kept the straight 4/4 in triplets feel going for the entire song. For the lead guitar hook, I actually spent time tracking the second melody offset by an 8th note triplet to recreate the manual tape delay of the arrangement from the actual NES game, but at the end of mixing, I decided to add delay to both guitar parts anyway, so I probably didn't need to go to that effort! I also added an extra parallel thirds melody for the main hook on the second go around of the tune, which came out pretty epic sounding. Finally, the bassline is pretty straightforward for the whole song except for the bridge where it plays a furious string of continuous 16th note triplets that was murder to try and pull off on an actual bass. I initially wanted to track the bass with my fingers but had to resort to a pick to be able to play that section at the tempo I selected, which is still slightly slower than on the NES!
Tracking consisted of my usual drum setup, bass direct with the SHB thru God's Cab IR, and micing up the Fender Cybertwin with an sm57 for guitar. I double tracked each melody on guitar, so all together there are four guitars on this arrangement.
