I remember Batman doing this. It was on Batman the Brave and the Bold. The Caped Crusader and the Metal Men teamed up to fight the Gas Gang. The Metal Men formed a suit for Batman to fight the Gas Gang and gain the upper hand against them.

This story is the proof our boy Jimmy needs another series featuring him as the lead. Imagine him as the protagonist of a harem comedy in which we see our boy forming bonds with Supergirl, Power Girl and other powerful heroines and accidentally making all of them fall in love with him, so the plot would be about Jimmy dating multiple ultra-powerful women at the same time while trying not to hurt their feelings and have his heart ripped out as retribution.
