Great comparison, thanks for the breakdown. Firepower now comes with a 3yr warranty. Replaced the Skyrich in my '13 350 EXC-F, the Firepower fits exactly to the battery tray dimensions and has higher cca @145 vs the little shorter(length) Skyrich.

Hi Mike, there's one extremely important factor in Canada that needs to be included. Cold temperature charging. With snowbiking in canada a lot of BMS will shut down an disallow charging at a certain temperature. They also tend to glitch at extreme cold, EarthX w/no bms is less protected but a sure winner in extreme cold. Shorai seems to work well in cold.
@gorillam211 ай бұрын
I know this is a weird metric to compare but it is an important factor as they batteries will stop charging at a certain temperature and can do weird things.

I have an AG801 in mine. Had to trim off the lip on one side of the bottom of the tray. No big deal (but wish I didn't have to do it!). I also had the stock battery fail when it "bubbled" out the side! Hole in the side of it. Had a whole day of enduro racing and could only push start the bike.

I bought the Anti-Gravity battery for two reasons. How long it lasts and it is made in USA.

How do they perform after a crash? I’ve seen batteries that load test well But after a fall Don’t work ( cheap batteries- batteries plus batteries & power master)

Batteries in our recommended group don’t have that problem

What about reliability and accidents, I stuffed up on a CRF450L and accidentally shorted to earth the main positive terminal. I've been careless with other batteries or had accidents resulting in crimped or cut wires. Arching or burnt connection, or hopefully a blown fuse are normally the result. The oem Honda battery had a non resettable fuse internally, so one tiny touch of a spanner to the frame was enough to reder it useless. This sort of thing shouldn't happen but it has the potential of leaving you stranded. A much cheaper battery, that had higher ratings doesn't suffer the same floors, yes stupid me did it again on a different bike with a Li but it suffered no failure. Could be expensive, but I'd like to see some safety/destruction testing and comparison.👍

Great spreadsheet and analysis. I don't quite understand the starter power requirement you have listed of 40-60? I think that is actually the number of amps your starter would pull for the number of seconds you are cranking for the engine to start. So, 12v x 40= 480 watts to 12v x 60= 720 watts. Thoughts?

I’ve had the bad luck with the tusk and anti gravity possible my fault. But no problems with shori I assume these numbers are claimed. Has anyone actually tested them to see if accurate?

The crazy thing is, I had a Shorai melt on me back in 2014 and when I quizzed my friends, I found 6 who'd also experienced a failure or had a buddy with a failure. The AntiGrav have been fantastic for me, and I've put Tusk in a handful of bikes as a budget option and not had problems.

Real nice breakdown. I have the firepower and it's been great. The stock skyrich lasted from 2017 to a few months ago. I am on a 2017 KTM 300xc. Question, with my new battery, it cranks faster, but it still stutters and gets held up. I replaced the Bendix bushings but it still stutters. My beta does not at all. Do you know why this might be? The Bendix gears looked good but I'm not sure if I need to inspect something other than the Bendix teeth.
